Does anyone know where I could get the Merrie Melodies "All this and Rabbit Stew" cartoon, or more preferably, the whole Censored 11 set, on DVD or VHS? Please don't direct me to YouTube, because I have very limited Internet access. If you don't have any copies, would you mind recommending a Looney Tunes DVD instead? Thanks in advance, and I hope this isn't too much trouble.

Well, you could probably find some of them on bootlegged DVDs at stores like Wal-Mart. In fact, we bought a DVD once that contained the episode Jungle Jitters.

I think one of them was on a Looney Tunes Golden Collection, but I don't remember which one.

My grandma and uncle from Maine has a DVD with "All This and Rabbit Stew" on it. Maybe they'll release the Censored 11 on a legit DVD with some featurettes as to why each one was censored, for historical reference.

All This And Rabbit Stew pops up A LOT on various cheap public domain DVDs and videos, and they usually go quite cheap (depending on the amount of content. Jungle Jitters pops up occasionally, I've seen Uncle Tom's Bungalo and Hittin' The Trail have popped up on some bigger collections. Coal Black, Clean Pastures and the other non public domain toons can be found if you look about on the internet, but Angel Puss is very rare. Most of these cartoon prints are in very bad condition,
I won't give out links to places like YOUTUBE or GOOGLE VIDEO.:anime:

I doubt that they'll release them to DVD, probably because the Looney Tunes DVDs are placed in the 'Kids' sections and might worry about complaints. Warner Bros Home Video don't want to give Bugs Bunny or any other characters a bad name now do they?

It was rumored awhile back they were gonna air the Censored 11 on a special episode of Toonheads w/ a disclaimer, but decided to cancel the project.

Odd, since the Golden Collection DVDs are geared twards adult collectors (well, they first featured this disclaimer on the back of Volume 3. I'm guessing they were worried about parents buying them for thier kids.).

Yeah, I thought their goal was to remaster and release ALL of the Looney Tunes shorts, even the ones with the most offensive content. I bet they're saving those for last, though.

Wich ones belong to the Censored 11. They may have played a few of them on Cartoon Alley this morning.

Well that one actually has aired a few times on CN, once on the "Wartime Cartoons" Toonheads special.

That was on Cartoon Alley along with Herr Meets Hare and some one with Daffy Duck and Nazis.

Cartoon Network never intended to air a special Toonheads episode of the infamous censored 11, nor has any of the shorts turned up on past LTGC dvd collections. It seems that Time Warner doesn't want anyone to see these shorts, as back in May of last year, Turner Classic Movies was devoting an entire month to racial films, the channel wanted to air some of the censored 11 and TW quickly balked at that idea.So I wouldn't get my hopes up anytime soon for these cartoons to see the light of day in any form.I do have all the censored 11 on video in beautiful restored 35mm prints.

:bosko: :bosko: :bosko: :bosko: I'm sure the censored 11 will eventually come out on DVD--as long as they can get Leonard Maltin to come on with a disclaimer--like he did on the 2nd volume of Mickey Mouse in Black & White--and the second volume of Silly Symphonies--they even seperated them on the DVD's so they could not be viewed unless you went to a certain section of the DVD
