I'm just a little concerned about this. I'm planning to promote my original characters, the Star Maidens. Unfortunately I am worried about infringing a copyright by the anime Galaxy Fraulien Yuna. Since most of Yuna's design elements are incorporated in my main characters, especially the first two main heroines:

I like to ask if I can get permission to Yuna's original creators first before I copyright my characters. Is there an E-Mail to the creators, or did their liscene expired long ago?
Just concerned.

Copyright, especially in terms of American usage is 90 years after the creator's death IIRC, so you're basically out of luck. You'd have to contact them, and I'd just about guarantee they'd say no.

Then, does anybody know the creators' e-mail?

I'd be almost as worried about Toei geting it's panties in a twist being that they look alot like the Sailor Moon characters to. I think you're out of luck until you redo things. You could track down whoever owns the US rights and see if they know, but I doubt you'll get much for the effort. Sorry.

At which point, our glorious leaders in congress will cave to pressure from Disney and extend that even more.

If you honestly think that your character designs are in danger of violating someone else's copyright (and you admit that they are based on GFY), change them. There's really no chance of the creator giving you permission to imitate their designs, and changing them will save you possible legal trouble if the designs are published/become widespread.
