No talkback for this mini-series? I thought Scifi’s The Lost Room was excellent! They did a great job of creating their own mythology and lingo for the show.

In the third episode, when they introduced “The Occupant”, they mentioned how he was a guy that no longer exists. He looked up his wife (that no longer remembered him. She was the town librarian. Reminds me of It's a Wonderful Life's George Bailey only without the happy ending.

They left enough loose-ends to make this into a series. Or at least another mini-series. I hope at least they will make a movie to finish it off. Perhaps they could just add it to the DVD release. It would make a great incentive to buy it!

If they make it into a regular series, they could go two different ways with the story. Either have Peter Krause's character continue as the star or have new characters and objects every week. Or maybe both.

I loved the first two episodes, but I totally missed the third. It was a pretty fresh idea, or at least an old idea with lots of inventive elements thrown in. I was worried, just seeing the previews proclaiming it a "Sci-Fi Channel Mini-Series" that it would blow just like 95% of their other original programming, but it was a pleasant surprise. I really don't have a problem with the series...just wish I could catch the final part. I'm hoping it'll come to DVD eventually.

Yeah, I was hesistant to watch a six-hour miniseries from Scifi, as well. I've watched at least half-a-dozen of their "original movies" that were a big waste of time.

For The Lost Room, I recorded all three parts on TiVo before I had a chance to watch it. I honestly figured it would be yet another big waste of time. I planned on just watching the first part then deleting the rest if I didn't like it. Yet it was so good that I ended up watching parts two and three back-to-back.

I don't know how well The Lost Room did in the ratings but if they intended it as a pilot, December seems like a poor time to run it. Nobody's home! That's why most series go on hiatus during the holiday in the first place.

Even if they never make any more, it's a complete story in itself. I highly recommend watching it next time it's on. I'll probably even buy the DVD.
