Arthur and the Invisibles gets a wide release next week after finishing a 1-week run in LA in December (solely to make it Oscar-eligible).

Thanks for catching the miss. I went a head and added it. Though I do have a question. Comingsoon.net, BoxOfficeMojo, and RottenTomatoes all have it's rating being Not Rated or Unrated. Does it really not have a rating?

Children of Men is excellent; I hope it continues to garner attention.Well the Acadamy has been favoring dark horses these past few years.

Cedric the Entertainer is a funny man... who needs to stop making crappy movies. He seems to be on a flopping streak.

Word is that Arthur and the Invisibles will not be eligible for Oscar consideration, due to the animation amounting to less than a quarter of its running time.
You mean to say that it took them FIVE YEARS just to do as little as they did? WOW.

Even if it's not eligible for the animation category it should theoretically be nominated for something else. I mean, the Academy seems to like the movie, so.. yeah.

EDIT: I just read that Arthur was indeed disqualified due to the live action thing. Which is strange because Stuart Little 2 (although not nominated) did qualify, and it has much more live action.

Well, I haven't trusted a critic in forever, and I'm sticking with it. It looked great the first time I saw the trailer. Now that I've seen the making-of, it looks even better.

Arthur and the Invisibles look very uninteresting.

I dunno... it might be just the kid in me, but I think it has the potential to be better than Harry Potter.

Key word: potential.

Arthur and the Invibles and Happily'N'Ever after are real low on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes.

Poor Luc Besson, I guess he should have spent the last seven years trying to give us a Fifth Element sequal instead of Arthur and the Invisibles.

I doubt it would have been nominated anyway- 2007 was a better-than-average year for Best Animated Oscar contenders.
