I didn't see a talkback, so here it is.

I almost forgot what happened last episode.

Famous last words..."what could possibly go wrong".

Esther takes the helm...or not.

Oh great. Ion will probably be blamed for this one too.

Are they giving us the full end theme tonight?!

Wow, full ending theme tonight.

Also, it's great to see Esther pack heat. 50 Cent would be proud of her.

Seth has a cute voice.

Seth has a cute voice. Of course, the actress that voices Beth is the same voice actress who's best known to AS viewers for the following two words: "YOU DUMBASS!!!" (she's also currently providing voice of another cutie in the form of Beccy-sensei from Pani Poni Dash). :P

Eh, nothing really happened in this episode except for a few small moments (mostly character introductions and the confrontation at the end). These multi-parters are starting to get annoying, because they can easily be crunched into a two-parter or a single episode.

Hillary Haag. Chihiro from Azumanga Daioh. Rosette from Chrono Crusade. Super Milk Chan from...err...Super Milk Chan.

I knew that voice the minute I first heard it.

The characters name is Seth and the Voice Actress's name is Hillary Haag. I'd link you to her ANN page except there is a honking huge unintentional spoiler for Trinity Blood on it . However, when that spoiler finally comes out you may just smack yourself in the head because a clue is in this episode to what it is

This show reminded me of everything I hate about Anime. This particular show is pretentious and takes itself way too seriously. Why were we sat down for half the episode to look at flashbacks and political crap? Why is a small blonde shota kid so powerful to kill a monster twice his size? Not every show can pull it off like GITS

Eh? Barely 1/10th of the episode was flashbacks, and the political drama was only hinted at (since the council thingy hasn't actually started yet).

Why is a small blonde shota kid so powerful to kill a monster twice his size?
He's a Methusula/vampire/whatever. They all have super speed/strength/all that jazz.

Fun episode, with Abel stuffing his face and Seth's little run-in with Ion and Esther (I swear, Esther always looks like a lost puppy, which makes her firing a shotgun that much funnier). We've actually seen Seth before, though only for a few seconds in 2 different episodes, including last episode.

The ending theme was weird tonight. For some reason, the video was only sped up by about .005% or something, as the video ended with about 5 seconds to go (the Japanese saying at the end of the song is supposed to start right as Esther is crying at the end). Strange.

As for not mentioning Haag's name, that was intentional in my part (wanted to see if any of the other AS board regulars recognized the voice actress as well, which I see they did).

Because people want to see what that trap can do.

And as for the spoiler-I'm just going to guess that
Seth is actually several hundred years old, evil, and behind it all.

Her name is Seth (i.e. the same name as the first child born to Adam and Eve after Cain murdered Abel). The main character's name is Abel. The main enemy is the main character's brother Cain. There was that previous scene with Abel saying 'Your not the Empress'. This show is hamfisted. It's not hard to figure out.

Please excuse me, I was using typical anime logic instead of dartboard religious symolism logic. I take it I was right on at least 2 of those.

Awful spoilery today, isn't it?

The irony is, once on a forum a Christian was wondering who Seth was. I (a non-Christian) had to give him the relevant Bible passage before he finally understands.

It can't be helped I guess. Cain and Abel are just so much more famous for some reason...

I was so scared Esther was going to die I honestly up and pacing back and forth nervously in front of the TV. That's how much I love this show.

She hasn't been saved yet, but I was afraid she'd die right there with Ion. I'm guessing she'll miraculously make it. I also love how Ion goes from his innocent childish voice to slicing up reanimated vampires without blinking an eye.

Dunno why I'm still watching this, other than that I have nothing else to do before Bleach...

Ion should have been introduced earlier. He's the most interesting character thus far, which isn't saying much, but whatever. I'm somewhat surprised that they seem to be intentionally playing up the Esther x Ion "awkwardness", even though things obviously won't go down that road.
