Black Hawk Down stayed on top of the weekend box office as expected, but there were a few surprises. Like how good A Walk To Remember did for one thing, which many pople were pegging as a complete flop. Surprisingly Snow Dogs also managed to hold onto the #2 slot, although still took a hit in the numbers. The Mothman Prophecies also faired very well.
1. Black Hawk Down - $18,200,000 ($60.1 mill)
2. Snow Dogs - $13,600,000 ($39.3 mill)
3. A Walk To Remember - $13,565,000 ($13.6 mill)
4. The Mothman Prophecies - $11,800,000 ($11.8 mill)
5. A Beautiful Mind - $11,700,000 ($93 mill)
6. The Counte of MOnte Crisco - $11,500,000 ($11.5 mill)
7. I Am Sam - $8,325,000 ($8.5 mill)
8. The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring - $8,025,000 ($258.7 mill)
9. Kung Pow: Enter The Fist - $7,270,000 ($7.3 mill)
10. Orange County - $4,600,000 ($34.2 mill)
The movies opening next week are Slackers and Birthday Girl. The latter, which stars Nicole Kidman, is surounded by good buzz and it expected to do some fair business. As for Slackers...well...maybe it'll break the top 10...
