OK, I see there are a lot of fans of this show on this thread. I remember the show when it first came out. As I would watch it years later, I would see it progressively getting better but found it difficult to keep up with cast members and when what teams got what powers etc.

To my knowledge, this was what happened:

Jason (Red)
Trini (Yellow)
Zack (Black)
Billy (Blue)
Amy Jo Johnson's character (Pink)

they all fought Rita

Then Tommy (Green) came along. They all started to fight Zed. Zed married Rita. Tommy became white.

Jason, Trini and Zack inexplicably left. I bbeliee this was when the Ninjor character came out?

THen I remember Jason coming back as the Gold Ranger with the Pyramid zord sometime later.

Could everyone fill in the gaps for me please? And from there how did we get all these other versions I cant keep track of? I think that one or two of them are concurrent with each other?

MMPR Season 1
Villain: Rita Repulsa
Jason
Kimberly
Billy
Zach
Trini

Tommy came in as the Green Ranger, originally as a brainwashed villain.

MMPR Season 2
Lord Zedd takes over from Rita as the main villain.

Tommy becomes a good guy and joins the Rangers. (This may have happened late in season 1, I can't remember.)

Jason, Zach and Trini bail. They are replaced by Rocky, Adam and Aisha.

Tommy's Green Ranger powers fail. After a time, he is reintroduced as the White Ranger.

MMPR Season 3
Rito Repulsa introduced, Zedd and Rita married. Rito destroys the Megazord.
Ninjor gives the rangers their new Ninja Zords and powers. (Costumes do not change)

Kat is introduced as a brainwashed villain, then turns good, Kimberly leaves and she replaces her.

Rita's father turns the clock back on Angel Grove, changing the Rangers into kids. The Alien Rangers of Aquitar come in to help them out.

The timeline is restored, but the Ninja powers are gone.

Power Rangers Zeo (season 4)
The Machine Empire sends Rita and Zedd packing. Goldar and Rito are stuck on Earth with a case of amnesia and are found by Bulk and Skull.

All Zeo Ranger characters are the same, but with new colors and Zeo Zords.
Tommy
Adam
Rocky
Aisha
Kat
Billy (still with the team as tech support, but has no Ranger power)

Jason returns as the Gold Ranger.

Aaand, somebody else can pick it up from here. Turbo is where I stopped watching.

OH boy... you do realise that's 15 years of timeline you want us to sum up in one post? You'Re better off checkin out Wikipedia. Basically every serie but SPD is set at the same year as the one it airs, SPD is set '20 years in the future' I believe.

As PR has been written around various things to accomodate the seasons as need, continuity is rather fluid and weird.

You forgot, Aisha stays in Africa, and Tanya takes her place and ends up becoming the Yellow Zeo Ranger.

Jason, Trini, and Zack left long before Ninjor ever came into play. Jason, Trini, and Zack were replaced by Rocky, Adam, and Aisha in Episodes 87 and 88 after they were introduced in Episodes 82 thru 84. Ninjor didn't come into play until Episode 119. As for why they lost the Ninja Powers, their power coins were destroyed by Goldar and Rito in Episode 148, hence why they had to gather the Zeo crystal to gain their Zeo Powers at the end of Alien Rangers.

In Zeo, Auric the Conqueror basically replaced Ninjor in the same type of role after Tanya got his key, though Ninjor and the Ninja Zords remained trapped ni the Ninja Temple.

In Turbo, one of the most despised PR series, Justin replaced Rocky as the Blue Ranger, but he stayed on with Tommy, Kat, Tanya, and Adam until half way through the season- when TJ, Carlos, Cassie, and Ashley took over the mantle. In addition to them, they had the Blue Senturion and Phantom Ranger assist at times. They battled against Divatox.

In Space brought TJ, Carlos, Cassie, and Ashley into space where they were joined by Andross and Zhane. TJ took over the Blue Ranger Powers while Andross was the team leader, and Zhane debuted the Silver color. Their main enemy was Astronema, but Ecliptor, Dark Specter, and Darkonda all served in that role at times.

Lost Galaxy was the first series to feature a completely new team, but they did have the Space Rangers return and help them for a few episodes. Bulk appeared in a few episodes as well. Leo, Kendrix, Kai, Maya, and Damon were the original Rangers. Eventually they were joined by the Manga Defender, who eventually gave his soul up to allow Mike, Leo's brother, to join the team as a ranger, though he was always referred to as the Magna Defender. In what is regarded as one of the most heartfelt episodes as well, Karone fulfilled her destiny of a full turnabout from Astronema and replaced Kendrix as the Pink Ranger after Kendrix appeared to give her life. Scorpius and his daughter, Trakenna, served as the main villians, but Captain Mutiny and Deviot also had roles in the treachory.

If anybody cares to continue, go ahead . . .

I stop watching Power Rangers right after Power Rangers in Space was over.

Then I managed to catch up a bit by watching Power Rangers Dino Thunder, SPD, and a little of Mystic Force.

After Lost Galaxy...

Operation Lightspeed (In Lightspeed Rescue) fought to defend Mariner Bay from demons. The core five were later joined by the Titanium Ranger, and saved the day.

Time Force, a 31st century police organization, has just had it's Red Ranger killed in battle. The murderer has gone back in time, with four other Rangers following. With the help of a new Red Ranger (and an unaffiliated Quantum Ranger), Time Force manages to reform the villains.

From the floating Animarium in the sky, the Wild Force fights Orgs, ancient monsters ready to cause pollution. The Lunar Wolf Ranger came from the past to aid the current team.

Deep in the mountains, secret ninja academies train our future protectors. Ancient scrolls told of three who would be chosen above the others. These are the Wind Ninja Rangers. Two Thunder Ninja Rangers, and one Samurai Ranger, join their cause to fight classic Evil Space Aliens.

There was a light in the distance. Dr. Tommy Oliver, having unearthed the DinoGems, now leads four of his students into battle against an evil dinosauric menace.

In the 2030s, the A-Squad of SPD Rangers have disappeared. It's up to the backup team to defend New Tech City. A futuristic Omega Ranger, and two of their mentors will join the cause.

Back in modern times, an ancient evil has been unleashed, and the Mystic Force, a group of magically-empowered teens, must fight.

I'd buy it! Seriously, if they could throw in a few treats here and there for the fans, and maybe a little continuity, I'd be thrilled. Of course, that's immaterial, because now that they've taken everything off of ABC Family, I can't watch anyways. Bringing it back would be good, Disney.

Oh, and theoetically, couldn't one connect the organizations? I mean, if after "Countdown to Destruction," Earth branched out into space (theoretically with alien, possibly Aquatian/Elatarian/KO-35 technology), the consider for a moment. First, an aside for the unknowing. Initially, seaon seven was set to pick up five years after the big finale of Space, but ultimately was moved to a year later, like other season, although the time sort of still passed, just not physically (confused yet?). Which means that the organization which developed Terra Venture could have also been involved with the Lightspeed technology, which could have given way to the stylistically similar S.P.D., and eventually Time Force. Here's a time travel paradox for you: by going back, the Time Force accelarated this technological rush...oh, dear, now my head hurts.

Also, for all we know, Terra Venture could have been in creation even before Jason and his friends became Rangers.

It just seemed way too confusing after a while. What was the fate of all the villains from Rita onwards? What happened to Zordon and the Alpha robots?

Would be interesting to see a climax movie called Power Rangers:Generations where they all get some combination powers of all of their previous incarnations. Tommy being a White and Green hybrid or something like that. Have all the different zords come together in a way.

Huh we already answered that question.. but to make it simple all the villains from Rita to Astronema weren't completly defeated until Countdown to Destruction, the finale to Power Rangers in Space.

When Andros shattered Zordon's energy tube, effectively killing Zordon, his energy was released to the cosmos and the invading forces of Dark Specter and the Alliance of Evil were all reduce to dust by the 'Z Wave'. Rita, Zedd and Divatox were turned human and Astronema was restored to Karone, Andros' sister. Karone returned later in Lost Galaxy to replace Kendrix as Pink Ranger after said Ranger died on duty.

Alpha 6 kept serving on the Astro Megaship during In Space and Lost Galaxy where he was last seen on Mirinoi after the destruction of the Megaship, a new model, Alpha 7, was seen on the Astro Megaship Mark II during 'Forever Red' which is as close to a 'Generation' movie as you can get.

After In Space all the villains just got defeated during their respective season finale. Ransik in Time Force was turned good though.

Possible, but given the SF slant which slowly develop around MMAR, I think that's a bit unlikely. Then again, maybe I just like my own theory:D.
