The last Anything Else/Cards thread of the year!
Question of the Week: How many posts will be in this thread by weeks end?
7. And most will talk about the NFL or New Year's (or this post) instead of the marathon.

Last night I broke in an End of Eva DVD I bought a month or two ago and set aside until New Year's Eve.
I planned to do it before I heard of a Metalocalypse marathon, and when I learned they were having one it was icing on the cake.

Ah, it was great watching the first two episodes of IY again. It brings me back to 2002, when the show first debuted on AS. The first episode is memorable because Viz edited it and the monster ladies boobs were digitally erased. Then the next episode, they magically came back.:p
Still, one must ask: Why doesn't AS air the openings to IY? They allow Bleach, Trinity Blood, and other animes to keep theirs(albeit for some, shortened), why not IY? A show should always have an opening for it.

They've shown IY's opening a couple of times.

You know, I never really understood the use of the phrase "it was icing on the cake." I mean, the phrase implies that you already have something good and you're just getting something a little extra, but, how is plain cake something good? I mean, without the icing, you might as well feed it to your cat or something.

futurama has been annoying me lately it was never my favorite show but certain batches of episodes stink even more when showed back to back  though I dont know if I should be a hater since before long I'll never see the series again

Uh... because some people like cake without frosting? Hell, I don't really like frosting that much on certain kinds of cake. It's messy as hell and pointless. It gets in the way.

I think the stupidest cake-related figure of speech is "you can't have your cake and eat it too."

mostly their older series if they still have them :p I never saw far into GitS season 1 because it was boring but since season 2 was alright I would give it another try and they haven't played Trigun in forever I think so that would be nice

Basically there is no need to get new anime shows, just show the old ones over and over again.

You know it's just too dang hard to please the Adult Swim anime fans sometimes because about half want the same old shows over and over again and the other half crave new content all the time (as in 3-4 new anime at a time).

2003 spoiled the other half, thinking AS has to air at minimum, 4 anime series per year.

you know Inuyasha is one of their oldest series and currently it takes up a whole hour on weeknights! and FMA was gotten at the same time as GitS so does that make it old  it isn't as if AS is playing any of their new series on weeknights
As I mentioned in the prediction thread, 3 new anime is generous, especially given the times. There's not a lot Adult Swim wants that can air with their standards, or that other networks might want too.

That's because it's the first time the series will air from Episode 1 all the way to the final episode of 167 and doubling it up gets it out of the way twice as fast.

"The King is Dead" (which aired last night) is still one of my all-time favorite Family Guy episodes. The amount of cutaways is just right, and none of them are very long at all. The plot perfectly showcases Peter's tendency to easily get carried away, and was also a great showcase for most every character the show had at that point, including Brian's and Stewie's annoyance at their acting abilities not being recognized ("I sing..... BEAUTIFULLY.").
Not only that, but overall it's a very funny episode. I still crack up at the scene in the beginning when Lois says "I'll do it!" and instantly Tom Tucker says, "This just in..." and a photo of Lois holding the phone appears on screen, as well as "I haven't had sex in four years!", "Oh, I just got that. A POOP joke? Yeah that's really clever, Lois", and "Por....QUE?!?!?!?!", among many other moments.

So, basically, you'll still complain no matter what new shows they air.

There were no ratings reports last week I guess, well I'm looking forward to see how the marathons did.
7. And most will talk about the NFL or New Year's (or this post) instead of the marathon.
Let's see how I did.
7 posts = Wrong (though I was successful for a while there)
Posts talking about the NFL = 0
Posts talking about New Year's = 7
Posts talking about my initial post = 4
I would've succeeded if 2/3 of the topic wasn't spent dissecting cliché sayings about freaking cakes.
