Which video games should be turned into cartoon series? Try to be creative and pick video games that haven't already been turned into cartoon series.

If it prevents them from becoming movies, ALL of them.

It is proably a little too late for these games, but Crash and Spyro would make fine cartoon series. Too bad that they didn't make it to a series, they used to be owned by Universal Studios, until they split from Vivindai to GE.
A Conker animated series for Comedy Central could be very interesting. :D

I thinl KH would work much better as a series to me. To me, it would feel rather jarring if they added a lot of those Disney characters in one movie.
Quite frankly, I still wish for a Crash Bandicoot cartoon, but I also don't want it since...
1. It probably won't do so well during this time period as Crash declined in years. If it came sometime between at least 1997 to 2001, it would have had a standing chance and knowing me, I'd probably feel sorry for it (being a longtime Crash fan since 97).
2. I fear if they did make a TV show of Crash, they'll resort to the personalities and humor of the latter games which in my opinion I do not enjoy as I feel the games storylines, characters, and mannerisms have been "dumbed down"--for lack of better wording--from the more sophiscated days of the Naughty Dog era (and at least Wrath of Cortex).

I'm the opposite, apparently. I found the humor in Twinsanity was above and beyond what had been seen in previous Crash games. I actually laughed out loud a few times, from the self-referential stuff to the timing on a lot of the sight gags. Tag Team Racing's humor was awful, but Twinsanity was the good stuff, and I wouldn't mind seeing an animated series if they were able to replicate that style.

I reminded mixed with it actually. Some parts were indeed funny (as much as I don't like fart jokes, I roared when Cortex--his whole body stuck on that pipe--had to deal with the smell of his own fart, his anguish squeal was PERFECT), but I never found it to be overally funny.

I've always wanted to see that cute little video game hero, Pengo, have his own cartoon series. I can imagine Pengo and his penguin friends living in an Antarctic town trying to outwit their arch enemies, the Snowbees. That would be a cute and heartwarming series. :)

Ristar or a Space Channel 5 cartoon.
Oh wait, only about three people read my comic, so no one would care about my idea for a Ristar series.
But I agree about Kingdom Hearts and Spyro (which I also agree that it's too late for Spyro since the series went downhill after Insomniac Games left).

My favorite games that should be cartoons are:
Plok
Aero the Acro-Bat
Crash Bandicoot
Spyro the Dragon
Tomba
Tak
Ratchet & Clank
Since they provide humor, cool scenes, graphics, interesting cool characters, and the villains are awesome.

And for KH and Phoenix Wright...I concur.
Anime style.
Are you meaning animated in Japan? 2-D only?
Either way, I could see it work in 3D or 2D. Square has given me a new level of appreciation for computer animated movies.

Banjo Kazooie. There was no need for viva pinata, funny as that show is.
I'd want a Kingdom Hearts series(given the number of characters,a series would be better than a movie)....animation style wouldn't matter to me(I like both 2-D and 3-D,though it would be interesting to see the cast in 2-D)...

It doesn't have to be 2D only, a little CGI here and there wouldn't hurt.
But yeah, having it produced in Japan would give it a more unique feel.

I guess between not being able to think of any suitable games, a low level of playing video games, the "Pokemon" TV show, and generally considering shows based on video games as half-hour ads for their respective video games, I guess I have to go with "none"...

I was going to go with a completely 3-D rendered series, but thinking about it now, it wouldn't work. The super-realistic models that you see in the KH FMVs and Advent Children would work for characters like Squall, Aerith, and Sora (obviously). It would even work for worlds like Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Nightmare Before Christmas.
But as soon as we get to Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, and other Disney movies that stylize human facial features, their faces wouldn't look at all like what we're used to seeing if they were given the "realistic" treatment.
Unless they use the stylized 3-D designs for the series that you see in-game.
So, I guess 2-D would be the best route. Plus it would be easier to lip sync in regular anime style.

It would also be far cheaper to produce a 2-D serie. (on a side note...how come Gargoyles never appeared in Kingdom Hearts yet? A 'Manathan' world would be awesome).
I always thought Golden Sun and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance wouldm ake for great anime series. And now that I've been playing Children of Mana I think the Mana serie would work great.

Nomura said that Japan doesn't have as strong a connection with the television series as they do the Disney movies, and the movies are more easily recognized internationally. Television series, even though they've had DTVs and theatre-released movies, will never be used.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. This show is begging to be made into an anime.
I also want to see a properly done Final Fantasy anime series. I don't know whether it'll be 2D or 3D but I do want to see one properly done. Maybe make it into a variety type show with the first part doing a story based on one of the games and the other couple parts dealing with moogle adventures and chocobos.

Agree with Earthbound.

Well the closest thing to animated is the Digital Novel on the PSP.
I just thunked NiGHTS into Dreams, Virtual On, Virtua Cop, and Zombies ate my Neighbors. But in todays age, that wont happen...
And if anyone says Halo, they did that long ago, called "Red vs Blue" which to me is extreamly entertaining, i loved it like 2 and a half years ago...

Its been ages since ive played Toe Jam and Earl, thought i never played the game for Xbox, probably dont want to either...
I might get flamed for this and the fact its opposite of this thread, but just a thought, Jem and the Holograms game (ive got some episodes and watching a few, just curious what its about and its Hasberos GI Joe for girls in a nut shell, but its a solid series accually). What could be in it... uh.... well, that explains it, nothing. Unless a crappy run around and pick up items game, or Guitar Hero style prehaps...
Kingdom Hearts. If it were a movie, I'd prefer 2D animated musical (seriously), or a straight-out CGI movie with no musical numbers (save for an ambiguous theme song at the beginning - similarly, as a TV series... I don't really know what'd work. I can't imagine the story in 2D animation, but then again I can't imagine Disney would put effort into making the show an episodic Advent Children). Nonetheless, the game is good for a series, as most of the games are fairly episodic in nature (especially Chain of Memories and II, where the first half of all the Disney worlds don't really tie into anything).
I suppose if it were to be made, they could devote the first 3 episodes to mainly introduction with some action, and then going to the Disney worlds for the rest of the series.

I guess we'd have to wait for III to get released, as it's the one that will shed alot of light on the backstory. That way they can flesh out the plot more instead of it being just a series full of Disney cameos.

Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Leisure Suit Larry, or Sam and Max (a more accurate one) could make excellent comedy cartoons.
A KOTOR show would be interesting (though the comic is awesome too)
Kingdom Hearts would be.. weird. No matter who made it it would be extremely different from the source material. Anime syle wouldn't really fit the show much because the in-game graphics and Nomura's designs are more Western-looking than anime (plus the animation would be bad). And I don't think Disney would care enough to make the show themselves, or have a good place to air it aside from Jetix.

Only if Rare oversees it just like they oversee the Viva Pinata cartoon. Otherwise you're just asking for another mess like Donkey Kong Country was.
