Being that they're both billionaires, would Batman be better at combating Lex Luthor than Superman? I think that rivalry would be incredible and Batman would reign supreme. he would own Lex Luthor. My friend here however, thinks that Lex is too savvy for Bruce and would bankrupt him in no time. Batman wouldn't even be able to afford a pair of glasses no less a cowl. He'd be brokeman instead of Batman. I think my friend is on drugs because Batman is so superior to Lex. Any thoughts out there.

Man, you and your friend can't seem to agree on anything huh? :p

If you're talking about Lex vs. Bruce in terms of business-person skills, I'd go with Lex. Lex has way more resources (in terms of money and property) and could outlast Bruce. He's also probably a more savvy businessman as well. It's like as Bruce groomed himself into being Batman, Lex groomed himself to be the Batman (or Superman) of the financial world.

Man, I was thinking the same thing, Failure. "Gosh, his friend is so convenient for introducing topics! I wish I had a friend like that!" :D

Wayne Enterprises, I think, is a very "genuine" corporation (ie they give to humanitarian organizations because Bruce wants to help them, not to gain PR), more so than Lex's empire, and I don't think it can survive in the business world being genuine, at least not when competing with Luthor. He's more willing to get his hands dirty, and he likes conquering stuff :P

Hmmm..... I have a very "Now you see that evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb!" mindset, come to think about it.

Yeah, Financial Empire wise, Lex reigns as king...however if it were an actual Batman vs. Lex sorta thing rather than a Superman vs. Lex thing...Batman would win.

This certainly is an intriguing questions, and one I'm sure has been brought up before... after all, in Batman Beyond Derek Powers is Lex Luthor (in a way), and he was able to leverage control of Wayne Enterprises. Then again, Bruce was demoralized at the time, but still.

Hm. As far as business goes, Bruce is honest and philanthropic to almost a fault. Lex would do any underhanded thing to gain control. But then again, Bruce wouldn't let anything go without a fight, and as the whole Enron debacle shows, bringing a corporation's deviousness to light against it can be devestating.

As much as I love and stand up for Batman/Bruce, I'd have to agree that Lex would probably come out on top...but only when business and such is concerned. Lex has a very good image, and when it gets bad, he can fix that. Bruce has a good image, but not like Lex's. Bruce is known for being a boy billionare, a playboy and someone whose not into business, he lets others take care of it for him. Lex on the other hand is nothing like that. But, this is only because Bruce is Batman's cover-up. If it was Batman and Lex buisness wise (if that makes any sense, lol), then Batman would come out the winner.

I think that Lex would be able to defeat Bruce Wayne financially because of the reasons mentioned. However, if Bruce got involved as Batman and managed to expose Luthor as the underhanded crook that he is and found ways to undermine his power then I could see Luthor going down (similar to Daredevil's taking down Kingpin in the Marvel U.)

i think if lex put all his effort in taking over wayne enterprises, he probably could. bruce would put up one hell of a fight, but if lex exorted all his energy, he could win. but it would take alot on lex's part.

an interesting rivalry would be lexcorp vs. waynepowers, w/ derek powers in charge of bruce's company. hmmm, now theres a fight.

Let's not forget that Bruce is Batman. He's called the Dark Knight for a reason. He may not cross any lines, but we've all seen that it doesn't matter. He's certainly not "nice" when you compare him to Superman for instance. When it comes to Bruce versus Lex, we have to remember that Bruce is just a mask. When you consider who he really is, the man is more hard-edged than anyone else, including Luthor.

I agree. Remember, as long as Bruce Wayne is Bruce and not Batman he is playing possum. He appears as a good-hearted somewhat aloof playboy. In actuality Batman has a wealth of information and resources. I often have said that he could take out any man alive because he simply has every super-hero and villian well scouted. If he bided his time he could tear apart Lex Corp and bring Luthor to justice. It would probobly take several years but the job would get done.

I complete agree. Batman's been described as dangerous, and he's definitely that. He's not someone that Luthor, or anyone else, wants to mess with.
