Australian DVDs

Has anyone purchased the Cartoon Classics Looney Tunes DVDs from Australia and can give a comprehensive review of the quality? Are they as good as or worse than the GAOLT laserdiscs? Are they real honest-to-goodness pressings or just burned DVD-Rs copied directly off laserdisc? Are they in PAL format (which my player can convert to NTSC) or in SECAM (which may pose problems)?

Naturally, I'm eager to expand my collection from the 3 Tweety DVDs I now have and would like to retire my GAOLT LD collection, and as I have an all-region player, these discs are highly desirable but only if they're of a reasonable grade of quality.

I don't own them, but I heard Volume 6 has very poor sound.

From what I've read, they are simply taken from the GAOLT lasers. I actually have grown a bad taste in my mouth for public domain releases ever since Winstar started screwing around with them and adding sound effects, etc.

The only official Warner Bros. DVD's released so far are the three Japanese Tweety compilations, the Japanese "Tweety's High-Flying Adventure," and the new "Crash! Bang! Boom!" DVD-Audio that includes "Now Hear This."

So, I gather these are just burned DVD-Rs copied from the lasers (laserdisc-to-burned DVD-R) instead of professionally pressed DVDs stricken from digital transfers from the cartoon prints.

I guess in theory they are professionally pressed DVD's since they're manufactured by a video company (much in the same way a public domain video is professionally produced), but no they're not taken from actual prints of the films. The cartoons are just copied off the laserdiscs.
