View Full Version : "Static Shock!" - "The Big Leagues" Talkback (Spoilers)
What did everyone think of this episode? Personally, I'm not really a fan of this series at all. The episode was better than most of the "Static Shock!" episodes that I've seen.
I guess it's just that the show is a lot lighter than prior WBA action series. I liked seeing Batman and the Joker around and I liked seeing an older Tim. I remember Jim saying on the newspage that the voice of Hogarth in "The Iron Giant" voiced Tim. Overall, a pretty good episode, but it was pretty campy at times.

I'm not too crazy about Static Cling either, but I watched it just to see Batman, Robin, and the Joker again. I see they drew "Uncle J" in the old pre-Batman-Superman Adventures style, just the way I liked him (what, no Harley Quinn?). They spiced up what looks to me like a very bland-looking show (the BGs are soooooo bland-looking, more worthy of the Super Friends-Scooby Doo Movies Dynamic Duo Batman and Robin than BTAS' Batman and Robin.
"At least we should be thankful he didn't use a loudspeaker..."--Batman (my favorite line from this episode)

Just wanted to note that in the original old "Static" comics (published by now-defunct Milestone Comics, which were distributed through DC), the usual DC Comics Universe (Superman, Batman, etc.) were apparently all living on a parallel Earth----one of Virgil's interests was reading comic books *of* DC Comics characters like Superman, Batman, etc. In a scenario a la the famous "Flash of Two Worlds" story, he finally got to meet his comic heroes (along with the rest of the Dakota super-community) in the "Worlds Collide" crossover (some villain tries bringing elements of the heroes' two seperate Earths together for, er, I forgot why. But it was sort of cool though...). Though being primarily a Superman / "Superman Family" (of characters) crossover, Bats wasn't involved.
