This can't be any worse than the ECW PPV a few weeks ago, but this is still a horrible card filled with lame gimmick matches.

Yeah not even the Reverse Battle Royal could save this PPV. :D Also, bringing up the Fan's Revenge match would be too easy to make a joke out of considering it already is one.

Very cool ladder match. Looks like Mercury has a broken nose though. Also, Regal getting scared while climbing the ladder was priceless.

Now I gotta see this tag-team match., Although lots of plotholes like MNM teamning up, how Jeff and Nitro were able to wrestler inter-brand. Poor Regal/Taylor. Looks like they will never be tag-champs.:sad:

DAMN TEDDY LONG for adding two last minute teams into this match! Great match but he completely screwed my prediction!

Why can't they just add the Hardy Boyz and MNM to Smackdown! for good? I don't see WWE insists on separating two of the best tag teams in WWE right now after only re-uniting them for a month.

Ditto. But at least it was a damn good match. Brought me back to the Y2K ladder matches between the Dudleys, Hardys, and E&C.

WWE is delivering the goods tonight! Benoit and Chavo was awesome! Benoit hits EIGHT CONSECUTIVE GERMAN SUPLEXES! :D He hasn't done that in a long time!

Wow JBL just said that the reason Amy was dumped by Jimmy was that Jimmy discovered that Amy was involved in animal porn. I guess Stephanie had a hand in that joke getting on the air.

People are already posting images of Mercury during the ladder match. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, here it is. http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/9966/mercurynoseho2.jpg

Oh, yeah... I saw it... It's very gruesome...
That was an amazing match, BTW. I can't believe they retained...

Taker just took a sick bump off the set. This is officially a contender for best PPV of the year.

Oh no, Finlay just said he won't double cross Booker. I guess we all know what that means. Hopefully Finlay and Booker win before Finlay betrays Booker.

I like how Big Dick Johnson showed up a week after the VKM skit. Looks like more fodder for VKM in the weeks to come.
WWE Just doesn't learn how to quit.

WWE Just doesn't learn how to quit.
I think it's Vince Russo and VKM that don't know when to quit.
EDIT: Well the main event sucked big time. Oh well, at least every other match was great. Damn I hate Cena and Batista!

Reading the results, this seems like a 1-match show. Main event sounds very awful. Well, this is what happens when you base the brand on batista. sloppy main events. Not a good sign for Mania.

The one match that was good was slapped together at the last minute too.
It's just a mater of time now before the brands are put back together. The talent just isn't there to cover two seperate shows anymore and it really shows.

The tag team match was awful booking because of three reasons:
a.) They didn't promote the fact that it was a 4 way or that it was a ladder match before the PPV thus losing any potential buys as a result.
b.) This is really something that could have been saved for Wrestlemania.
c.) It was booked so early in the event that everything else had to live up to it (and from the way it sounds, didn't).
However, everyone is saying the match was fantastic and I really want to see it now. Also, both WWE and TNA have their booking mishaps (probably TNA has a few more) so there's no use arguing it.

Good, brutal ladder match, but it was absolutely unnecessary. Hell, I would've been happy with Londrick vs Blue Bloods in a regular match. They should've sprung the Ladders, MNM and Hardy Boyz surprise a week or so ago. Doing this at the PPV would've done nothing to help the buyrates. And I was worn out after this, and it was only the second match. Poor Joey broke his nose for nothing.
Inferno matches have never been really exciting, and as soon as Kane walked out without a shirt, I knew he wasn't going to lose. The best part of it was JBL and Cole selling MVP's "burns" afterwards, especially after Mercury bled all over the place. Yeah, they should really talk about the guy with a fake injury after a guy had an actual one.
Taker-Kennedy was okay. Best part here was JBL and Cole selling Undertaker falling 20 feet onto that CONCRETE~! mattress.
Helms-Yang and Benoit-Guererro would've both benefited from not being after the ladder match, but they were still both good.
I knew there was something fishy about the Santa. I'm sorry, but Big Dick Johnson is hilarious when he just pops up randomly like that.
The main event was so anticlimactic, even the finish was anticlimactic. Seriously, no turning, no miscommunication, no nothing? But I laughed at Little Bastard kicking himself in the head for a lot longer than I should have.

I gave the PPV 4 stars. I really liked the ladder match and the last ride match. The ladder match just brought back a lot of nostalgia. But the main event blew chunks. Damn why can't Cena tear his quad or something like that to get off tv for a while? Oh yeah, DX breaking up wouldn't hurt either.

I don't mind the brand split, they just need to do some rearranging. Like, acutally building main eventers on Smackdown.

Five years ago the brand split made sense. Now it's hurting the product more than it is helping it. RAW and Smackdown are both low on main event talent and ECW becomes more of a joke weekly. It won't last forever and I think 2007 is the year it will finally end and maybe (hopefully) the WWE will finally become watchable again.
But then again you are probably right, 2007 will probably just get worse and Dumb to the Xtreme will continue well through Wrestlemania and Kevin Federline will be in the main event at Wrestlemania.
On a side note though, that ladder match while horribly booked and somewhat pointless, was a very good match and probably the match of the year for the WWE.

The main problem with WWE is that there is no real competition and thus no real need to try to do better. Acutally I'm under the impression that they think that they are doing a good job.

Armaggedon proved that they can still put on great matches when they want to. Hopefully TNA will continue to do well in 2007. Maybe that will force Vince to put out more quality matches. Actually, I see Armaggedon's ladder match as a sign that WWE is starting to take notice of TNA. It's like they said "we can do killer matches too!"

They have the talent, they just need to utilize it better. It would also be a good idea to take the belt off Cena at Mania and have him take a break until the Fall and come back repackaged with a new look and gimmick. Cena does indeed suck in the ring, but he could be decent on the mic and he has charisma, his gimmick is just stale and very lame now.

Cena is way too popular with his current gimmick and selling way too much merchandise for that to be a smart move business-wise.

An update and interview Joey Mercury.
This just shows that pro wrestlers gotta be some of the toughest people on the planet. AND he protects kayfabe.

Ending the brand split now would just mean BOTH shows would feature Cena and DX instead of just one, which I know is something you wouldn't want.
It's more of an issue of elevating people to main eventer status, which SD's doing with Finlay and Kennedy (and Lashley, before he whined and got transfered), and RAW is doing this with... uh... Umaga, I guess.
