Great 90's cartoon with a cult classic and one of my all time favorites!

Actually, I was just thinking about this series last night. I think there was an homage to Bucky O'Hare in the Loonatics Unleashed ep "The Heir Up There".
When I get home, I'll try to get images to support my claim.

Only reason I remember that show at all is because I had several figures from the toyline. My parents bought them when there were no Ninja Turtles figures I didn't have.

I remember Bucky O Hare because of the cat girl named Jenny who assists Bucky.
The Bucky O Hare cartoon used a Canadian voice cast.

are Canadians good at voice acting, or what?
back to the topic at hand, I only remember the show, solely on the fact that I played the arcade game when it first came out....

Rabbits vs. Toads? Good Lord, what were they smoking?
I always wondered what went into the skull session that resulted in this concept. I can picture a bunch of animators sitting around a table, trying to think up which animals didn't have their own series, yet:
"Turtles?"
"Got 'em."
"Ducks?"
"Been there."
"Dogs? Mice?"
"All over the place."
"Hey! What about toads? Nobody's done toads, yet, have they?"
"Problem is: toads are icky and green. A lot of people don't like 'em."
"No prob. We'll make them the villians!"

You know there WAS a Battletoads cartoon one thanksgiving long long ago.
which I never saw because my local ABC station didn't air any cartoons till they were forced to by Disney.

Did anyone found Jenny to be sexy for a cat? well i sure did when i was 9 years old and i had the toys and played the video game.
I've got some good news for you all! there is going to be a CGI animated movie of this coming in 2008, i can't hardly wait and maybe by then the show will be on R1 DVD.

Actually the show was based on an indie comic book (I think it was outside of the code at the time but I'm not sure); so you should ask 'What was Larry Hama smoking?'.

How is the comic anyway?
i had a bucky toy and the duck,
never saw the show.
if i remember correctly the reason it failed was because the toy company was dumb and made exact number of units for each character instead of more for the popular characters so all the bucky's sold out and no one wanted the rest.
I'm sure i read that on this forum on other bucky o hare topics.

They never even had a Jenny figure. That sucked. I wanted a Jenny figure!
You know, I seem to remember the series ending on a cliffhanger. It only laster one season, right?
How is the comic anyway?
It had the same basic plot as the show, only it was a little more violent. That ape, Bruce, I think was his name, in the show he was sent to another dimension, but in the comics he was incinerated.

Did this show ever have a series finale? It was crazy that the entire Toad race wanted to take over the universe all because their supercomputer brainwashed them all. Pretty dark stuff for a show that looked pretty cutesy to an extent.

I think the finale was written in the arcade game based on the show. It was a TMNT/Final Fight side-scrolling beat 'em up.
Oh yeah. And here's that Loonatics image that I was talking about:

Kinda looks like Deadeye without the extra arms, don't he?

Small bumpage to let people know that the original Bucky O'Hare comic has been collected and released today.
Granted it's black and white and not in the original color, but hey, if you like Bucky pick it up from the comic store!
Continuity Studios has posted a CGI demo of Bucky O´Hare on their Youtube account.

Oh God, I used to love it as a kid, but I dug up an episode recently and it was terrible. Nice character designs, though.
I also liked the idea of an evil empire whose influence can be measured by the amount of trash TV. Even though that was kind of ironic, considering the cartoon's quality.
In conclusion, Jazz Jackrabbit > Bucky O'Hare.

Uhhh...wasn't Jazz Jackrabbit just a Sonic the Hedgehog ripoff?

Sonic the Hedgehog never had floppy ears or a big gun.

I'm almost positive the show wrapped up its story arc with a happy ending - something to the effect of you could see Bucky's homeworld (Warren) start to grow and bloom again after being a wasteland, and a father rabbit tells his kids about the brave deeds of Bucky and his crew. There might have been one more stand-alone episode after that.
Review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aG5dscfXj0) of the never produced Jenny action figure.

This is kind of a random question, but was there an episode where someone was sucked up in a machine? I randomly thought of a scene that scared me when I was little and I think it was from here. Does any hardcore fans remember a scene like that? (Sorry for the vagueness)

Yes, that was one of the Berzerker apes. I believe his name was Bruce. In the comic's, he was actually burned to dust rather than sucked into a machine. I remember reading the comics as a kid and thinking it was pretty gruesome. By the way, which came first, the comics or the cartoon?
