The amazing site www.animated-movies.com post up a link to an interesting article. It seems that Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and their forest friends are "seriously troubled individuals" according to some recent research. Who wastes time studying this?? Anyways, here's the article:

From the article:

Lead researcher Sarah Shea said the purpose of the tongue-in-cheek study was to remind people that anyone can have disorders.

More like the Dept. of Self-Satire. Psychology increasingly seems predicated on the idea that everyone has disorders.

I hate it when psychologists over-analyze things! :D

Having studied psych for a few years I'll just say "but that's what they do!!" Hehe.

Ya know, it may be pessemistic but I would have expected as much. Only THIS generation of people would look into something like that. When I was younger we just took things as they were and as they were meant to be by the darn creator! Pooh and Christopher Robin had their happy little adventures, Tigger pounced on a couple people, end of story. :p

Well... THAT was strange... how dare they mock winnie the pooh?! It's just something that you don't do.

To purge yourselves from reading that sludge... I urge you all to read The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff. It teaches the Principles of Taoism through Winnie the Pooh and Winnie the Pooh through Taoism... It's an AWESOME book. No matter what your philosophy, I guarantee you'll be enlightened.

It is. The study is mentioned as being a satire on psychological evaluations.

--what the first four letters of "analyze" spell. That should tell you something....

My sister-in-law, a Pooh fan, would probably crucify whoever dreamed up this baby.

What about Gopher? Does his preoccupation for hole-digging, his workaholic tendencies, or his whistling lisp indicate something seriously wrong?

Maybe I'll abandon my psychoanalysis of Pokemon and begin dissecting the works of Dr. Seuss. What childhood trauma lies behind The Grinch--? :D
