I was watching the absolutely stunning collection of the DVD box of "Silly Symphonies", when I got to "The Three Little Pigs". I knew there was some kind of weird issue regarding the "Fuller Brushman" scene....

This particular scene in this version must have been re-animated. The backgrounds change (and look much newer and cleaner), the animation style changes, and the scene itself looks very different. Was there talk about some other original version of this scene before in this group? Jerry has had a screen cap of a much funnier and more typical version on his website-

There was also talk about that original version showing up on a Disney tape a few years back- anyone know the scoop on this?

Thanks for all the help-

Larry T

The original scene involved the wolf disguised as a stereotypical Jewish peddler.

The ANIMATION NATION website has already been discussing the THREE LITTLE PIGS situation...

What? I did not know that! I wonder if there were many multiple releases of other Disney cartoons!

That's some amazing stuff.

It looks like Disney looked for the best possible soundtrack (1950's one) and also the best possible picture (original UA titles version) The print looks VERY good and the sound is great for something from 1933.

I wish Disney would have inserted the original scene in (It looked pretty good in that intro), but Walt himself wanted the scene altered. If it was a Fantasia situation where Disney altered it for the hell of it, I'd want an explaination.

Pigs In A Polka and The Windblown Hare did it better, though. :D
