Image Comics for February 2007 (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=8986)
Comments:
- Madman Gargantua looks cool, but $125? Even after discount, I think that might be too much for me.
- Kyle Baker's Nat Turner is moving to Image, and presumably finishing up. Hooray!
- New Sam Noir mini-series. I just read issue #2 and think it's even funnier and more over-the-top than the first issue. It's sort of like what you'd get if The Tick were crossed with Sin City, but with samurai. I think I'm in for this.
- Death Jr. vol. 2 TPB. This comic is the exception that proves the rule that video-game tie-in comic book suck. In fact, I think the comic did better than the video game.
- Sweet variant cover to Elephantmen #7 by Chris Bachalo (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/imagecomics/200702/elephantmen007bcover.jpg).
- The Nightly News is a truly strange, incredibly dense, and extremely charged comic. I picked up issue #1 after being impressed by the graphic design and am even more impressed with the content. #4 of 6 comes in February, but it's been on my pull list as of #3 (since I missed the pre-order cycle for issue #2).
