My respondce is... THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ENDING WE KNOW OF...
You know, why couldnt Tomino just did the REAL ending to MSG than the fake Zeta Gundam movies... to me that is a much better project to do. Who cares if its got CG animation and has the new today anime look, its the REAL ENDING, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT EITHER WAY.
Thats my felling to the orignial BGC anime, it was supposedly 13 ep but they shortened it to 8... i would love to see how the series have ended if Priss died in episode 6 just to see how it would look.

For a second there I thought it read "MGS" ending and I'm like
Whhaaaaaaaaaa?!
but the whole "happly ever after" has never happened with Gundam, never.

Gundam ZZ, G Gundam, Endless Waltz, Gundam X and Turn-A Gundam beg to differ.

You realize other than ZZ, the others are AU series which Tomino had no doing with.
ZZ was on purpose with its ending, which i liked alot.

You realize that Tomino was the writer and director for Turn A?

I'm on the side who thinks what we got was better. The planned ending is more in line with CE than UC. Part of what I love about a good Gundam story is the hero doesn't face the main anatagonist like in a shonen series. It's more realistic. At least Amuro realises that the war would never end unless Ghiren died.
It came off as more realistic and more ironic that Ghiren was shot up by his own sister rather than the old fashioned "Main hero faces main villian" rule.

Because he wanted to do the Zeta movies and didn't care about the original ending to MSG?
Just saying.
Also, they're fake? I better go get my money back, then! :D

While I prefer the ending which we have now, the planned ending isn't really half-bad.
Could do without the excessive use of Newtypes to the point that it's something along the lines of "monster-of-the-week" syndrome like Super Robot series have.

Even if they were piloting...SPACE ADZAMS??? :p
An alternate 13 or so episodes would be a nice OVA, Bandai...

Yea, it is what it is...
I ment the endings and the redone versions to the zeta gundam movies.
What?
They aren't "fake". Tomino wrote and directed them himself. Sunrise produced and distributed them. They're just as valid as the series ending.
Or is it okay to call things fake if you don't like them?

ok so 'fake' isnt the best word, but i consider a real ending the original one. Gundam fans know the original ending to Zeta, and Tomino did his version to Zeta or the "happy version". I also heard when someone asked him can the movies he did can cocenspire ( i suppose the right word) with ZZ, he had no comment, because the original ending fit perfectly to ZZ opening (no duh since the week after Zeta ended ZZ came on).
I mean maybe the happy version of the Zeta movies were the real version then...

I agree. The 43 episode version was definitely an improvement over the original plan, not to say the original was terrible, but I like the one we got.

I have no idea what you just said.
Then Amuro takes his retooled Gundam out for a spin and blows Char's Kikeroga (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/ggf/msn-01.htm) to kingdom come. This is a great line. :anime:
Overall, I like the version we got better, as it just seems to flow (especially in the movie trilogy). We have slightly fewer single-episode-only MS designs (which I wish would be exterminated from every Gundam series ever), and Kyscillia died a better death. Plus, Amuro & Char's fencing match was great.
The only thing I really miss from the original version was Degwin Zabi coming onto the White Base and pleading with Sayla for her forgiveness. I'm not sure if I miss it because it's a great plot point, it actually gives Degwin something to do besides compare Gihren to Hitler, or because it develops Sayla a bit, which is ALWAYS good.

Even though the 52 episode version sounds great, I prefer the 43 episode version.
Though that's quite interesting about the newtypes being used, Gihren having a longer part in the story, more characters, a different ending, and different scenarios.

I remember seeing this years ago on the Gundam Mailing List.
