LOL!!
I didn't catch those yesterday, but hey - That's pretty funny, Calvin & Hobes & the Peanuts spoofed. Cool!

I have been dieing to get good screenshots of those episodes. Could use those on the World's Finest site sometime in the future? Those are aboslutely hilarious - the in jokes are GREAT!

I believe "Dan Danger," besides parodying Dick Tracy, is a caricature of WBA director Dan Riba, who directed the episode.

Great grab, SSNTails! We're all in your debt!

And written by Harry Thatcher...and if you invert the starting letters, and alter the spelling a tad...Terry Hatcher =O

Nice catch!

I assume we all get the "Siegel and Shuster" bit. ;)

Now, can we do anything with "Gleen," "Bill Wemissu/Wernissu" and "Dewey Logan"?

Does anyone know of any other STAS, BTAS, TNBA, Beyond, or JL episodes that have had in-jokes/hidden things in them that you can't quite make out? Lemme know and I'll go digging.

Hmmm...how about Timmy the Menace? Where a kiddiefied Bruce Timm has a Harley Quinn doll that he imagines to be real, but ends up killing off the doll, much to the sadness of Dini the Meany?

Dini the Meany is written by "Bill Wemissu," which is obviously a play on Bill Watterson, who wrote Calvin & Hobbes. I'm pretty sure Watterson had recently retired his beloved strip when this episode was animated, so that would explain the spelling of it: "Bill Wemissu" = "Bill, we miss you."

Wow, this is really awesome. Thanks SSNTails! Imagine all the little things we've missed along the way.

To me Dewey Logan sounds like Do we Logan...but that just doesn't make any sense. A search of Google shows that Dewey and Logan are both counties in Oklahoma...Maybe someone from the crew was from Oklahoma? That probably makes the most sense. Or I guess they could be named after people, Dewey and Logan are both first and last names.

Thanks SSNTails. This was very interesting.

I can't believe how clever that was. I would never have thought that a show like "Superman: TAS" could be littered with hidden jokes like those. Thanks, SSNTails.

Oh yeah, the in-jokes in the comic page are wonderful freeze-frame fodder.

Yeah...perfect for a DVD release (HINT HINT!). There were so many injokes in that episode, and I know I've missed a bucnh. There's some supposed disloague and a couple sequences which pay homage to old Bizarro stories.
