How many of us here have made Student films before?
My friends & I are making our first REAL student film(which means actual sets, costumes, props..and loads of fake blood... :D ). So far its been a fun process...but we haven't started filming yet. We're planning on entering it into a film festival, or something.
Anyway, who here works in film? Studying to work in film? Who has actually made any Student Films?

I work in television...thats sorta the same thing, only it isn't "student" and we don't get to play with fake blood (on camera)

I majored in Film & TV at NYU, so I've made my share of student films (and animations). They all stunk. ;)
Hey Naraht, how does one get to be a Master Control Op?

Fill out an aplication...be able to push buttons.
It's almost unskilled labor..you need a High School Diploma. Pay sucks...
It's alot easier to find work in smaller markets...(ie I'd have a harder time getting a Job in Dallas than in San Antonio...cause the Dallas Market is huge compared to the rest of Texas...it's bigger than Houston market wise...

Nope, just the usual high school video project fare, if that counts. Although my friends are pretty creative, so they always turn out cool. My friend Raja invented "crapimation" which is just simply filming paper cut-outs on top of a paper set with the camera held directly over it.

Well I made a few video presentations for example in Highschool me and one of my freinds needed to do a presentation on gravity for physics and who better to explain it the Wile E. Coyote. We edited clips together and played around with them as well as superimpose ontop of them and change the sound and add a voice over. It worked out pretty well. Oh and in College we needed to do this presentation about techonology and ethics for ethics class. My team thought of doing some stuff like showing how easy it is bootleg video and the ethics of doing so but when I talked to one of my freinds on another team and heard they were doing theirs on porn on the net I got an idea. We created a huge clipshow it was loads of fun making it. Basicly we asked the question if it is ethically wrong to make something like it, to show it to a small audience and to distrabute it. Also we explaned how relatively easy it was to make and cheap since all one needs is a high end Mac or Amiga and they can set up a mini studio.
Oh yes all my presentation was made on either an Amiga or a Mac I tried using a PC for the ethics one but it was nothing but a pain.

kevin smith went to film school... but they said his idea or the movie "dogma' (called 'God' at that time) was stupid. so he wrote clerks and they thought it was stupider. So he dropped out and he made booth the movies. they were sucessfull.
just felt like saying that.

I made a few films for my Animation class. One was a pain with almost 4 minutes of claymation in a short period of time, but with a 4 frame per minute mode. I was working on a fully drawn cartoon that would have lasted a few minutes, but of course time ran out. I wish I could have finished it, but that was the past. My claymation was about a redneck hunter and his bloodhound hunting. Bigfoot comes along and spoils the fun, but I don't want to give out any details. My drawing was about a pet monkey that gets blown up by a Banana hot air balloon.

I did star in one called "Not just a Chick Flick...................A Chick Flick with extra Flick".I know it was a really name but the movie wasn't THAT bad.I played a woman who had a sex change and is dating a woman who just came out as Bi-Sexual.Yeah I know kinda dumb.I was also in one called "DRUNK!".It was musical.I also did a short one called "Queers:A bar for gays" and an animated one called "Ain't it Rainin'?".Yeah they all sucked!

An aspiring director here. And cinematographer. Have tons of ideas, and no money whatsoever.
