DC Comics Solicitations for February 2007 (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=8885)

More smart-aleck commentary to come later, but for now I'll leave it to say that Simone Bianchi finally makes a cover that I like for Detective Comics (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/dccomics/200702/batman_superman/DET-COM-828.jpg), and that Adam Hughes presents one seriously kick-ass Black Canary (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/dccomics/200702/dcu/JLA-Cv6-variant.jpg).

Batman #663 - Love the cover!
Nightwing #129
Robin #156
Action Comics #847 - Not too sure about the whole 3-D thing.
52 Weeks 40-43
Brave and the Bold #1 - Looks like I have a new ongoing subscription.
Ion #11
Justice League of America #6
Trials of Shazam #6
Teen Titans #44 - THAT IS NOT THE CORPSE OF SUPERBOY!!!!! I swear, they really want Titans fans to hate this Titans East crap.

I may, but probably not, get Absolute Batman: The Long Halloween. I already own the mini, but it's my all-time favorite Batman story, as well as one of my all-time favorite comic stories period. But, seeing the price, and that I already have it, it may just be one of those "Man, that would be nice..." kind of things.

Those Superman/Batman Bookends are nice!

Quick comments:

- I'm on the fence with the Robin: Wanted TPB. I've heard it's one of the better superhero titles coming from DC lately. As long as they don't get it confused with the Mark Millar Wanted TPB.

- All-Star Superman gets its first HC. Hmmm. Maybe, or maybe I wait a little longer for the TPB.

- Supergirl #14: Why am I having a hard time believing that this fight "to the death" will last even if it is true?

- Birds of Prey #103: Funny cover, though who's the girl on the right and why is she stupid enough to seemingly tick off Big Barda?

- With the Secret Six TPB this month and the Checkmate TPB last month, it looks like we have 2 contenders for modern-day replacements for John Ostrander's Suicide Squad. I'm only hesitating on this because I know it spins out of Villains United, and I put that TPB back on the shelf when I realized that the first 10 pages or so were recap JUST so I'd know what was going on in the book.

- Wooo-hah! Jeff Smith's Shazam: The Monster Society of Evil #1 (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/preview2.php?image=solicits/dccomics/200702/dcu/Shazam_monster-1.jpg) is finally solicited. Suddenly, many more things seem right in the world.

- New Ex Machina TPB, definitely on the list.

- New Exterminators TPB coming out, too. I pre-ordered the first one, and it was really entertaining in a squirmy, squishy, sick kind of way. I'm totally on for more.

- The Other Side wraps up, and Scalped and Sandman Mystery Theatre continue.

- 13" Catwoman from DC Direct. I like mine better (http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_072606a.htm), even if I had to pay through the nose for her.

Hm. That's a pretty short list. Maybe I'll get that Robin TPB after all.

I'll be getting the following, (comments thrown in as needed):

Detective Comics #828: Ace is right: That cover does kick butt, but what's up with the strange design on Batman's chair?!?
Jonah Hex #16
Justice #10
Justice League #6: Is the team formed yet?!?
Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes #27
Wonder Woman #5: If it's Heinberg's last issue, then it's probably my last issue...
Ex Machina: Inside the Machine #1: Where's the regular issue of Ex Machina for this month?!? Oh well, this looks like an interesting promo issue...
The Other Side #1

And here are some that are on my "Maybe I'll get it, maybe I won't" list:

Superman & Batman vs. Aliens & Predator #2
Brave and the Bold #1: I really like Mark Waid, and generally anything he writes, I at least try out. Still, does the world REALLY need another "DC Team Up" title?!? But then again, it's George Perez on art!!!
The Flash: Fastest Man Alive #9: Marc Guggenheim, I respect you, and you're the new writer...So I may pick this up.
Ninja Scroll #6: If this comic can stop rehashing the events of the movie, I'll be sticking around...
Scalped #2

And I'll never be able to afford it, but I'd love to own that "Absolute Batman: The Long Halloween" Hardcover. I don't get why these things are so high in price!!! A normal hardcover book, (with just text) doesn't go for that high of value! Most hardcover fiction books go for around $30.00, I believe, so why does DC think they can get away with a price tag of $75.00!?!?

DETECTIVE COMICS #828
BATMAN #663
BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #3
Dini? Morrison? Yes. Whether or not I pick up Confidential depends on how I like the first two issues.

ACTION COMICS #847
SUPERMAN CONFIDENTIAL #4
Still interested in checking out what Richard Donner contributes. Again, Confidential depends on how much I like the series up until that point...

SUPERMAN & BATMAN VS. ALIENS & PREDATOR #2
Assuming #1 is cool...

MARTIAN MANHUNTER #7
Might as well let it run its course.

THE SPIRIT #3
Another one that's dependent on its preceding issues.

THE BOYS #8
I like it so far, and foresee no reason to stop reading it.
