Universal thinking about doing a QUANTUM LEAP reunion movie!

"According to an unnamed source at TV Guide online, Universal Television is contemplating a QUANTEM LEAP reunion movie. The source told the site the studio was “exploring” the idea of reuniting Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell in a two-hour network movie.


LEAP producer/creator Donald P. Bellisario had told the site earlier he’s been trying to get a reunion movie going for some time, but "Universal, who truly owns the rights to it, has never shown an interest."


What may have changed the studio’s mind is the newly expanded career of LEAP star Bakula, with his role on the surprisingly popular ENTERPRISE.

God, I hope this happens! I have been such a huge fan of the show and Scott Bakula. He's one of the reasons why I like Enterprise so much. I was so happy when I first heard that he got cast in the lead role. Here's to hoping!

I started watching Quantum Leap on sci-fi before Enterprise came on to see if the new Captain could act and Quantum became one of my favorite shows, I really like the one when Sam and Al change places. :D I really hope this happens, I would like to see him get home cause even though the ending to Quantum Leap was good (Sci-Fi shows it basically on a regular basis, heh) I just think Sam should've gotten home. 2 hours of new Quantum Leap would be so awesome though. I hope this gets done! Seeing as how Paramount has Bakula right now and they're getting rich off of him, Universal might show interest since he's a much bigger star now for being the Captain of the Enterprise NX-01. A bigger audience would probably even tune in just cause it's Bakula! They could get alot from this and fans would benefit too. :)

I damn near had a heart attack when I read the post. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! This is the best news I've heard all year.

This series is my absolute favorite. I can't wait for this. Maybe they'll do that Magnum episode, or that animated episode.

A reunion movie....SWEEEEEEEET. Very sweet! Probably the only other show my mom watches on Sci-Fi other than Crossing Over (frankly, I fail to believe Edwards to be a true medium. But that's a rant for another day :p ;) :p )

but what would the movie cover? another of Sam's leaps? in the series finale, it was told that Sam never leaped home. if that stays true, the movie would have to be about his leaps and unless the story is really good, there wouldn't be enough justification to produce a movie. the ending in the series finale was sad and heartfelt. if they decide to make a movie where he does leap home, this would be a really good reason to watch because there is a significant difference from just one of his leaps, but at the same time, the heartfelt ending is no longer there.

Sam never leaped home, but who says he's the only one who will ever go back and set right what once went wrong? :D It could be about them finally coming up with a way to help Sam with another leaper. It's the only plot I could think of if they wanted to get Sam home.
