After The Lion King, I pretty much drifted away from Disney movies, with The Three Musketeers and Lilo & Stich being the sole exceptions.

Man, if you liked the episode of the series that you watched, it's almost a guarantee that you'll love the movie. It's one of the funniest things to ever come out of Disney since...... ever.

On a side note, I originally complained about the animation in the series, but upon further inspection some of it is quite good. Those good ones are animated by Toon City (a fave studio of mine), and reach a level of fluidity while still maintaining the snappy movements that permeated the 2000 film. You wouldn't happen to know who animated the episodes on the screener you got, would you Duke?

Well, the series itself is okay, but I will give this movie or should I say episode a try. I hope Yzma and Kronk don't act annoying, but they will anyways. :shrug:

Just got done seeing this and here's my thoughts on this.

First off the Opening was funnier then most.

Kuzco: If you don't like Yzma, Don't watch this show, but wait this show is about me, so if you don't like Yzma do watch this show..(Okay nice little twist there..

But then the momeht we get going here, the story goes south in a hurry.. I mean you got Kronk Trying to Slip Kuzco a potion, Chicha getting on Kuzco for wanting to take over the Master Bedroom in the hut, and then of course The Malina and the "Angry Look" for getting her into trouble

But when Yzma starts to sing... there goes the school, the neighborhood, and of course the empire..

I feel that Duke's analysis is correct... this episode even though it's about 20 minutes long, really felt rushed.. almost like it was some crazy idea that someone whipped up in a hurry..

Over all the jokes were okay but still, I think if they had done this as a Longer (Say one hour) bit, it might have worked.. but this case It didn't work very well (and the Bucky the Squirrel short didn't help much either).

Final Verdict? Well if you are in it for the laughs... Do watch this show.. but if you think there's a plot hidden here somewhere? Well then don't watch this show..

I give this episode a C at best and a C- at worst.. Typical Emperor fare for a less then stellar episode and even though Yzma sings it doesn't help advance the plot much.

Exactly. It's a good show for laughs, especially some episodes like The Mystery of Micchu Pacchu. I loved that one. :cool:

I agree if you are indeed in it for the laughs.. but was there a plot here in this episode? More then Likely not. and I still hold firm that this felt totally rushed... rather then a full worked out story..

Also is this supposed to be some "Final Episode" for this series? It it was.. well they did it nicely (even though it was "Rushed" I think a full hour long movie would have been better..(having Kuzco going through not only Yzma, Patcha and Chicha, and Kronk and Melina, but also other characters (what about Cavo?)

but I'll stick to what I said.. if you just want the laughs.. Do watch it.. but if you're looking for a plot it's not here..(the lights are on but no one is home at the Kuzco Academy...)

I saw the whole episode last week; it was really funny!

My favorite part was when Kuzco got turned into a cockroach: "Waaaaa! I'm a bug face!"
I also liked the Bucky cartoon, and the end credits where Kuzco was dancing.

BUT...like tuscon, I felt this episode being rushed too (but only just a little), so I'm gonna rate this episode...

Hands down one of the funniest songs-in-an-animated-cartoon-series I've seen. Such great references, rhymes and staging. I had to slow-mo it on TiVo to get everything. Really, really good stuff.

Yep, I think this show is one of the funniest on TV now. If only it didn't have to be educational...
