Since we've gotten to see the Batman/Superman episodes this week, would you change anything in the Batman/Superman/Beyond/JL voice cast?

Batman

Everyone here seems to be perfect in the voice casting area, and I don't think I would change a thing.

Superman

Same thing here, the crew is perfect and I don't think I would change a thing.

Batman Beyond

I would change Commissioner Barbara Gordon's voice a little bit, just because it doesn't fit Barbara to me.

Everything else seems to be fine, especially Terry's voice which kind of has a Bruce Wayne tone, which is cool.

Justice League

I would definitely change Superman's voice, but I'll wait for George N. to do the voice for a while and get used to it, but for now, Superman sounds just too wimpy and much younger than S: TAS.

Wonder W, Hawkgirl, and GL need to work on their voices just a little bit, bit they seem fine right now.

The Flash and MM have great voices, and match their character personalities very well.

All in all, Bruce Timm and crew have done a great job in the voice crew category and I hope Bruce Timm and Co. continue to do such a fantastic job in the future animated shows.

P.S. Can anyone confirm what DG said about Kevin Conroy smoking to keep his Batman voice? Also, did Conroy say that if he didn't smoke that he wouldn't be able to do the Batman voice? If it's true, that's really freaky because if Conroy continues smoking, then we won't have a Batman voice for long! :p

Screwy, isn't it? I mean, the guy does a great job and all, but when you're smoking to keep the job, you're either too desperate or too obesessive or both.

I think its possible that he started because it made his voice sound more Batman like, and slowly became addicted. I highly doubt someone would smoke, just to keep a certian voice, but if he is, I agree with kid_flash... It's a little too much if you ask me.

I don't want Kevin Conroy to die of throat cancer! Pretty soon he'll only be able to do the Batman Beyond voice!

LOL yeah, exactly! And even then he'll be wheezing all the time, and you'll have Will Friedle sitting there, trying desperately to go with it. "Bruce, man, just die already!" "No...too many...punks to stop." And then he'll get back into the Batman gig, fire Terry, hire some chick and build a tank or something. Man, I'm weird...

There are some interesting stories in the world of these voice actors, some well-known, some not.

- Dana Delaney voiced the Beaumont babe in Mask of the Phantasm before becoming the regular voice for Lois Lane years later.

- Michael Rosenbaum plays Lex Luthor in Smallville and voices Flash in Justice League.

- John Glover had a small role in Batman & Robin, voiced The Riddler, and plays Lionel Luthor in Smallville.

- Stockard Channing, who voices Commissioner Barbara Gordon in Batman Beyond, auditioned for the part of Lois Lane in the Superman movie. Her test screening is included in the film's special edition DVD.

- Bob Hastings, who voices Commissioner Jim Gordon, used to voice Superboy in the 1960's.

- Efrem Zimbalist Jr appeared on a Zorro TV show a couple years before commencing work as the voice of Alfred Pennyworth. Zorro was cited by Bob Kane as one of the inspirations for Batman.

- Michael Ironside provided the voice for Darkseid as well as Frank Miller's Batman in Legends of the Dark Knight. He was also in Starship Troopers with Clancy Brown, voice of Lex Luthor.

- It seems when casting the role of Joe Hackett on Wings, the producers narrowed their final choice down to two actors: Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly. After a couple weeks, they decided to go with Daly. Years later, the two would collaborate as Batman and Superman in World's Finest.

- Kevin Conroy went to school with Christopher Reeve.

Dude, you are like the uber-geek! That's awesome, I knew I recognized John Glover's voice, and I was actually gonna check if he did the Riddler, but then I got lazy and read comics or something.

I got it from DG (excuse me--Jim Harvey). He's a pretty reliable guy, all things considered.

Yeah I think we got that Conroy smoking news a few years ago while Batman Beyond was still churning out it's episode deal. I think it was around then cuz the reason for him smoking was to get older Bruce to sound older....or something similar anyway.

Well, getting back to the original topic, if I could change any of the voices in....

BATMAN
I wouldn't change any. Perfect.

SUPERMAN
I would definitely change Livewire's voice...it's just so annoying. And her delivery of lines is really weak. I'd also add to the list Mr. Myxzptlk (sp?). Then again, I don't really like the character in general, so that might also be a factor...

JUSTICE LEAGUE
I think that Wonder Woman needs a bit of work (but her recent delivieries in "Paradise Lost" were much better). George Newburn is no Tim Daly, but that's a completely different topic unto itself...Other than that, I like the rest.

They need to get a new voice actress for WW.
