So are they done with marker or is it actually printed on the DS Lite? If they're printed that would be awesome.

After all you wouldn't want to play with your DS Lite if someone famous signed it. :p

It's signed and then laminated underneith if I am understanding it correctly

same way as other DS variation designs like the FF3 one

It's probably just sharpie, so isopropyl alcohol would probably clean it off in case of a mistake without any problems. After it is properly scribbled a upon, they could probably use some kind of fixative spray or decal to ensure their is no risk of it rubbing off.
