I moved but didn't get around to re-registering. And my district/state is not in play anyway. But I expect the rest of you to do your civic duty. Vote twice for me!

My distrinct screwed up, so I didn't get my absentee ballot this year.....it's probably chilling out in my school mailbox. ><

Oregon is notable for its mail-in system so I already voted.

I love early voting. I did it a week ago and the whole process was only a matter of minutes. Robo calls be damned, I already did my part. :p

Yup, I voted. :)
...I'm really not too keen on this whole Diebold system, though...I wish there was a back-up paper trail or something, you know?
Anyways, I hope everyone eligible and able votes today.

Today, I used a touch screan machine, and to my surprise, there was also a paper trail. I could see exactly how my vote was going to be counted on a paper adding machine tape like thing that you could see through the glass on the right side of the machine. It recorded my vote, and even at the end, the computer said that I could change my vote as I desired,
..So, although I had discussed this problem with a friend,(and I didn't know what they were going to do) my county clerk, must have made arrangements to have the paper trail installed for all touch screen machines. Also to my surprise, if one wanted, they could get a
yes paper, ballot. So a few were using the machines, and most, the huge, long paper ballot..
It seemed to be very fair to all.

I'm just glad the annoying campaign commercials will be stopping shortly. All the negativity, half-truths, and character assassination present in them... are they TRYING to turn people off from voting?

This is the first election I've been old enough to vote in and I mailed in my absentee ballot last week.

I'm more than old enough to vote, and I will be doing so very shortly. It's going to be a long evening.

I'm going to vote later tonight. It's just to stick a finger in the eye of Annapolis and Baltimore, who more than cancel my vote.
I've been going in with my mother as long as I can remember before I was eligible, so I know how everything works.

I won't be old enough to vote untill 2008, when the nest Presidential election occurs.

I will have to vote for every election, local state and federal once I become an Australian citizen. I don't think such system is good because there are plenty of people who don't give a damn and vote randomly.

I mailed my absentee ballot last week. Being from New York state, my votes in the major categories don't matter quite as much as in other states, though the things I try to make sure I vote properly on are the local elections. County and town offices and such things that do matter very much to me and my family, and that we actually know our votes count in.

I was tempted to vote for the RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH party but I decided not too. Other than that I'm please with what I picked. :)

Well, we've got road rage, air rage...now voting rage??
Pa. voter attacks voting machine (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15611962/)
ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A would-be voter in Pennsylvania was arrested Tuesday at a polling place in Allentown after smashing an electronic voting machine with a paperweight, according to poll workers.
Authorities didn’t know what caused the outburst.
“He came in here very peaceably and showed his ID, then he got on the machine and just snapped,” volunteer Gladys Pezoldt told the Morning Call of Allentown.
Okay, I'm sorry...but I do think it's kind of funny. Like when people get pissed off at their computers and shoot them.

So Australia's one of the countries with forced participation? I'm not sure I like that...Doing one's civic duty is important, but I just don't think people should be required to do it. Because otherwise you might get people who mess around and don't take it seriously, like you said.

Absentee Ballot but I voted. :)
Came down to the wire, though, I thought it might not get here...

I voted. Absentee ballot (we're mail-only here in Cowlitz County, WA), but I dropped it off at the courthouse a couple minutes before the polls closed.
(I was so close to being the last voter in the county. So close...)
I always find it easier voting for Initiatives and Props and Refs than for candidates. And voting for judges is hardest, because I don't know jack about the courts.
The end of political ads is a good thing, especially since the ads I get are from Oregon.

Yep....painful, weren't they?
I voted a few days ago (like Dalek said, this is a mail-in state).
The results are starting to be projected now. As usual, Oregon voters are knee-jerk and stupid. The Democratic governor didn't do a blasted thing with his first term, and I was willing to roll the dice and vote in the Republican this time...but it didn't work. And it's not just because of Bush backlash--it's like this all the time around here. This state is so blue in hue, a dirty sock could run in the Democratic position, and people would elect the sock based purely on the reason that it's the Democratic candidate.
And as usual, all the ballot measure results are on the left side, EXCEPT for where we really need it--tax increases for schools and services! Gah, you'll only get as much civilization as you're willing to pay for....

Absintee ballot for VA, since I'm still registered there and I live in GA, and I couldn't give any less about GA politics.
Yes, even though I don't like them much, I voted Democratic and against the marriage amendment.

Probably would've voted if my dad wasn't sick as a dog, though I'm neither Republican or Democrat and I don't like the candidates for either party than ran here in Arizona.

Sarita's link lead me to another story of a pollster attacking a voter: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15611865/
It says he was being forced to vote in a judicial election, which the voter did not want to do. How can anyone be FORCED to vote? Sounds like that's one biased pollster.
