Are they going to ignore Pokemon 2000? Ash's line in the commercial " wouldn't it be cool if it really exsisted?" makes it sound like they're ignoring the movie. Does anyone know if they'll ignore it?

I saw those eps months back and didn't get much indication that anyone remembered the events of P2K... But anime movies, especially franchises with annual summer releases, are more like omake/extras to a series than an actual part of it. For example, I doubt the run-in with "Sammy" in Poke4 will ever be brought up but it perhaps explains something from the beginning of the anime.
I'd like to see more of the Pokemon Collector, though. Thing is, Kaga Takeshi (his VA in Japan) isn't easy or cheap to get from what the Iron Chef memorial book said.

P2k didn't strike me as a continuity story to me...so I'm not surprised that they're ignoreing it.

Ok, I saw the first episode with the chibi-Lugia last night.... There were a couple lines in which "Ash-co" sounded as if they mentioned the Orange League/seen Lugia there. No flashbacks, but I have yet to see TV Tokyo use movie clips.
And while on that, Hiroshi, Yamato and Kosanji- I mean Kosaburo :p, have at least 2 eps in Johto Champions

Chibi == Cute...

Yeah, I know. Since when was Lugia "cute"? I must be missing something on the show...
Anyone care to fill me in on it?

It's probably the same situation as with the DBZ movies. Out of the three I've seen (the ones on CN), only "The Dead Zone" could be fit in with the continuity of the series. The other two couldn't possibly have happened, for reasons I will not go into here. They managed to avoid this with "Pokemon: The First Movie" by giving everyone amnesia, but apparently they couldn't find a way to disconnect the P2K with the series.

"Tree of Might" could fit in, too. Who wants to know how? PM me if you are one of those curious types.
EDIT: No, it really doesn't. Thanks to the Polisher to pointing out the teeny, tiny flaw in my plan.

Pokemon 1 was reconnected to the show, with the Mewtwo Lives special that aired in Japan on 12/30/00... (out on vidvd now)
Chibi means little. Kawaii means cute. And yes, such things as baby Lugias and Mewtwos are extremely kawaii but they are first and foremost chibis. Chibis can also be those anime figures/drawings with big heads and tiny bodies that are little and superdeformed.

Damn, I always get those two confuzzled.
Oh well...so it's a little Lugia as opposed to a Cute Lugia...
Wutever.

It's a baby... i found it kinda cute, but not on par with "Magby"(baby "Magmar" form)... Or Guilmon or my puppy, or anything...

BABY Lugia? Please tell me Ash doesn't catch it, turning him into a Uber-Poke God, as even a baby Lugia would wipe the floor with most other pokemon...

No, he doesn't. The Lugia arc lasts three episodes and features "Cassidy", "Butch" and "Richie"... "Cass" has a Delvel, "Butch" a "Hitmontop", "Richie" now has a "Pupitar" and his "Charmander" has evolved. He still has Leon the Pikachu as is.
Note to self: always type "Butch" carefully. :o
