my tv guides had FF on tonight yet I check my tape and find that horrible Naruto show, apparently a marathon tonight. I'm normally on the ball but my guides have failed me twice today:
1. TMNT Fast Forward changed from 9am to 9:30am
2. Fantastic Four preempted for Naruto marathon

yeah, i read the news at the toonami boards
looks like FF is RIP
just wait, they'll bring it back on the 6am timeslot aka the Graveyard Shift, where shows go to die (e.g. He-Man and TMNT). I just hope they release the series on dvd before the film sequel.

I'm not surprised. Like I've stated before, the show was too manga looking, tried to be more of a comedy cartoon than action & the spray painted 4 on Thing's chest was the last straw! WTF was the rational behind a spray painted 4 on his bare skin? Did the genius behind this lame brain idea think it would be cool & hip?
The 2nd season of the 90s FF cartoon blew this cartoon out of the water!
I'd rather see a Lionsgate DTV DVD movie about the 80s John Byrne version vs either Doom or the Skrull empire & Super Skrull or the Surfer & Galactus!

...from the beginning. Until Marvel Animation improves past the 70's, no show will have a long shelf life.
When the show looks bad, it's hard to get into the story or the characters. This show looked bad. What little action it produced looked bad. The characters talked too much, and what they talked about wasn't very interesting.
It will only take a few more failed shows before Marvel finally gets the picture and produces a high quality, visual series. Marvel has the better characters (in my opinion) but DC cartoons have ruled in the past decade.

I really liked this show, I dont really get the hate. It was different so maybe thats why i liked it, plus its the 4. The 4 on the Things chest, in the word of Batman..get over it, it was a non factor then, and its not even a factor now, can anyone honestly say that they noticed it when watching it? I doubt it. Too manga looking, half the cartoons are today, so I dont see how that really factors, besides maybe oversaturation. Could it have used more action, maybe, the Hulk episode i thought was damn fine, as was the Dr Doom episodes. And the 2nd season, from what i have seen, of the 90s FF, wasnt anything special, and I saw the some of its "best episodes", it was very average and the Thing from 2006 was better than the 1995 version( youre aunt petunia tells you to shut the hell up, god he had the most annoying voice ). I hope this show gets back on the scheduele, it deserves as much of a chance as any other show.

Hey, we're fans, we notice things. Character design and animation are huge for a cartoon, especially an adaptation because its struggling with other interpretations of the characters. The animation on the show wasn't as smooth as it could've been, and the lip-synching wasn't English, two major blows to the show.
Although it didn't fully grow on me, I have to say, I'd be very disappointed if this was it. Where's my Kree/Skrull War?!

Ummmm...so people know he's a member of the Fantastic Four?
According to my TV Guide and the onscreen TV listings, Fantastic Four was supposed to air today. Why it didn't is anyone's guess, but usually when a show's pulled from the lineup on such a rapid notice, and replaced by a rerun at that, that means the show wasn't doing well.
Oh, and Naruto's a fine show compared to a lot of Marvel's recent animated offerings. Heck, most of Marvel's recent offerings wish they had chemistry like Naruto does.
What this means for Cartoon Network is that they have NO new shows entering the year-end for Toonami, just new episodes of older shows already airing, and a lot of reruns. They wouldn't do that unless they had a reason, or a show that could quickly air in the place of the cancelled one.
I guess Prince of Tennis will be making its Toonami debut sooner than we thought if FF doesn't come back.
Does FF still re run on Saturday morning?
No, it has been replaced with Class of 3000.
Oh. I thought they might be moving it away from Toonami since it's more of a comedy show, rather than Toonami's action-orientated programming.
Yeah, this is worrying.

I'm really not convinced that Prince of Tennis would make it. Maybe it's just the low quality of the Jetstream feeds, but the animation seems a little washed out. How old is the show, anyway? And besides, everyone says the show is like Dragonball Z with tennis, but honestly, I'm not seeing it. I mean, yeah, the matches are kind of interesting, but I really don't think they're action packed enough to keep kids interested. Also, when's the last time a sports cartoon has been a success?
That's what I'd guess would air. Personally, I'd want GaoGaiGar to take Fantastic Four's spot (as it's a billion times more awesome than Fantastic Four has been), but I'm being a realist. Whatever takes FF's spot will probably have been on Jetstream.

On Cartoonnetwork.com the schedule has it listed for Nov 11 but it’s probably just an error.

bah, they'll probably just Miguzi it just as they tried w/ Megas XLR...which also failed on the 'Guz.
toonami is basically a dumping ground for KidsWB and 4KidsTV retreads (Pokemon, Yu-Gi Oh, One Piece, and The Batman) sprinkled w/ the likes of Naruto and Bobobo.

Ummmm...so people know he's a member of the Fantastic Four?
Ummmmm...if people don't know the Thing's a member of the FF & need to see a 4 spray painted on his bare chest to let them know he's a member, then they've been living on another planet!
No reason was ever given for the spray painted 4 & I don't think they even knew why they did it! Oh yeah, so the kids that don't know crap about the comic version of the FF would think it's  !
This version of the FF was too comedy driven & hardly featured any real action battles! You would think great shows like JL/JLU would show the producers/writers behind this fiasco, what makes for a successful animated series, guess not.

Im so tired about hearing how retarded the spray painted 4 on the Things chest was, did anyone ever even think about it even once when they saw the show. I doubt anyone ever really saw it unless they concentrated really hard or they had a close up shot of his chest, and anyone who went out of their way to look for a 4 just so they get pised off about, well I think has bigger problems then a design of a fictional character. Like I said its irrelevant then and its even more irrelevent now.

Personally, I've never found it to be true. Some fans may be blowing its significance out of proportion, true, but it really does stand out more than you say.

Maybe it does for other people, for me i barely noticed it. It just gets really annoying when people complain about a design more than what they feel was wrong with the show. Clearly the show failed( if it has ) for what was wrong with the material, but some people here just seem to go off about how a spray painted four was the demise of a show.

Show me where someone said the spray painted 4 was the demise of the show?
Many other factors played a role in the demise of this show, the spray painted 4 was just a move on their part that made absolutely no sense to do. If you look back at the 90s FF cartoon, in some of the episodes , Ben wore his traditional Blue trunks & in others he wore a blue tank top with the 4 on it. That made sense! Spray painted 4 on his bare chest? ...No!
If you're a fan that's only familiar with the FF due to their live action movie & know crap about their comic versions, then I guess a spray painted 4 on Ben's chest is no big deal to you, but if you're a FF comic fan 1st, then it's gonna get noticed & it's gonna be complained about.
This show was based more on the movie than on the comic FF which the 90s cartoon & even 60's cartoons were based on & therfore IMO , were way superior to this manga styled, too much comedy/not enough action/fight scenes, failed version of the 4.
The reason DCAU cartoons succeeded & lasted for 14 yrs is that the producers/writers didn't change the characters origins or overall classic, iconic costumes just to make them look cool to today's audience of kids.
And guess what, kids loved the DCAU right along with us older DC fans!
Marvel cartoons need to go back to the basics & give us the characters & costumes that we all grew up reading about in the comics & stop trying to modernize them to the point where they just look stupid & nothing like what they're really supposed to look like! If these writers they hire to do these cartoons don't read the comics of the characters they're gonna be doing an animated series about, they should! Seems to me that they don't have a clue as to how Reed, Sue , Johnny & Ben really are in the comics. The 90s & 60s cartoons had that part down to a T!
Also, it seemed to me that just about every story in this new FF cartoon seemed to take place in the Baxter building & hardly nowhere else. What was up with that?

Its called exaggerating, but also due to the fact someone actually said" I knew this show was going to fail as soon as I saw the spraypainted 4. That SUxxXXOOrrzz!(K that last part didnt happen but the feeling was there )". Also the fact that you go to write a paragraph about an insignificant 4, shows me you'll complain about anything. Aside from that, the Thing looked better than he ever has on any cartoon, he still had pants, and unlike the 90s show, he didnt have an annoying voice, didnt bring up his aunt in every sentence, didnt wear speedos, and was taller than 5'8.

No, a fan wouldnt have cared. You're just trying to find reasons not to like a show. Its ok to hate it for its writing, its animation, its art direction, but a spray painted 4? And I know about the comics alright, I dont get whats with the assumption that I dont know my history of comics. But yea a FF fan will not get pissed about, and I reiterate with much emphasis, a stupid spray painted 4. Get over it already, its not like it was alive and became the second coming of 70's HERBIE.

Funny cuz it still had the same origin, same villains, same building, and the same characters as the comic. Besides being made to hype up the next FF movie, it was only loosely based on the movie, much in the way a certain cartoon from 15 years ago was made to hype up a movie...what was it oh yea, Batman TAS. And just because something is based more on the comics doesnt automatically make it better, And as I recall the first season of "all mighty" 90s FF was probabaly the biggest piece of crap to ever hit when it comes to superhero cartoons.
The reason DCAU cartoons succeeded & lasted for 14 yrs is that the producers/writers didn't change the characters origins or overall classic, iconic costumes just to make them look cool to today's audience of kids.
Really? I thought a well oiled machine of cast, creators, respect for source material, animation, and good writing was the key to the success of the DCAU. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways.
The 90s & 60s cartoons had that part down to a T!
Maybe they did...the shows still sucked but at least they got something right.

You know, I've been thinking, is it possible that all the episodes of Fantastic Four haven't been dubbed yet? I mean, they did just show about three weeks of reruns. Toonami doesn't usually tend to go into reruns right in the middle of the season unless the shows aren't ready yet. Maybe they figured it was best to just take Fantastic Four off until the episodes were done being dubbed than to air another rerun. But, I don't think it would take this long to dub twenty six episodes. By the way, for those of you who don't visit the Toonami board, there's some news there about Fantastic Four possibly returning.
