Mongul was Hal Jordan's villain because he helped to destroy Coast City. Otherwise he's a Superman villain.

POSSIBLE EPISODE SPOILER

The Mongul story I believe they will base WAR WORLD on is the one from when Superman exhiled himself. He was captured and forced to fight in gladiator games. He refused to kill. This should be a great two-parter if it's what they use. Emotion, action, a lot of Superman getting beat with a stick, but at the end, you're gonna see him kick some tail.
