Being one of the many Schedule Customizers on TZ, i was wondering to what extent Jetix has rights to for Saban Shows. Is there anything they definantly cant air? Do they still have rights to shows like Medabots. In addition, deos Disney have access to any other anime companies?

Any replies that relate to the topic are appreciated.

Hello... I'm new to the board... want to start out by saying "hey"

In regards to your question, Disney owns 100% of Saban Entertainment and it's library. Disney can air any show from the Saban canon that they want to air. The only show that I know that would be a problem would be Masked Rider. I had read that Saban (before the acquisition by Disney) ran into some legal troubles with the show and took it off the air. Other than that, the content is Disney property. As to the rest of your question, I am not completely sure. Hopefully someone else on the board can answer.

There are also action shows/shows with an action element from Disney:
Zorro
Darkwing Duck
Gargoyles
Aladdin
Mighty Ducks
Hercules: The Series
Famous Jett Jackson
Legend of Tarzan
Kim Possible
Fillmore!
American Dragon: Jake Long
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command

Besides those I have no clue. I suppose that they still have the rights to shows like Galidor, Dinozaurs, and Cybersix. Rights to Escaflowne, Masked Rider, Flint, Medabots, Bobby's World, and the DiC shows (Though doesn't Disney have some ownership in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) have more than likely expired. As for VR Troopers, Eek! the Cat, Big Bad Beetleborgs, and the Marvel cartoons your guess is as good as mine. That is all I know at this point.

A lot of the European Jetix blocks do carry the 4k!DS shows, but that's no too important.

Although Galactic Football could be a good overseas contender for US broadcast, if they feel like replacing the world "football" with the word, "soccer" every couple seconds.

So then, what was the oldest pre-Jetix block besides Fox Kids, Made In Japn, right? And then the oldest Disney-owned was their UPN block, what was it called again? It was a spin off of ABC's 1-Saturday Morning, if I remember correctly. It held Digimon season 3 reruns, The Weekenders (maybe?), and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Not to mention the Digimon season 4 premieres on Sundays, I think.

This is what i've heard mostly, but i wasn't sure if they had issues with other shows like masked riders. Thank you very much :)

Donald Duck 12, Thank you for the list of current shows, but i know what they are airing right now. I'm just currious if they mgiht not have rights to some of the Saban Library.

Thank you for all the replies

I'm just currious if they mgiht not have rights to some of the Saban Library.

With them now just showing NASCAR Racers and Mon Colle Knights, continuing to air the Tick and Shinzo means that they do still hold rights to Saban's library. The problem is that if they don't air a show, we have no idea what they have rights to. If anybody knows anything please share it with us (It is especially killing me to know what happened to the Marvel shows).

Oh and I don't know why Miramax would no longer hold rights to Tokyo Pig, J'onn J'onzz, so they could air that as well. Of course Miramax has the Bionacle movies and used to own the television/distribution rights to PokeMon. Neither of which Jetix has shown any interest in.

I wonder if they could air Tokyo Pig.

They could (considering Disney put out a Tokyo Pig DVD back in 2003), but they just choose not to, like with Medabots.

Jetix has the rights to What's with Andy? in Europe and Latin Amercia, but I'm not sure if Disney still has the broadcast rights to it in the United States.
