...but I still haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail. I sent it three or four days ago. I do not mean to be impatient. I'm just wondering because of how quick joining Toon Zone was.

What's the Drawing Board site?

It's a part of Cartoons Dammit.

Hi SQ.

First off the Drawing Board website address is http://drawingboard.cartoonsdammit.com - you can also reach it via the link on Cartoons Dammit! (several actually) as well as the Drawing Board forum itself.

Secondly, reason for the delay on registration is thusly this:
The Drawing Board is running under brand new software, and unlike the old software, it doesn't send out notices to the administrators to activate membership. Co-Incidently, I only noticed this on Wednesday when I was looking at activating one of the Drawing Board staff. I activated all pending registrations so you've been active for over a day now SQ.

The fact it doesn't send out a notice is similar to how we don't get an automatic notice either. I'll look into that, most likely the software has to be manually configured to send out auto replies to users and auto notices to staff.

Any problems or queries with the site, throw up in this forum or PM me directly.

Thanks.

Why is it running under new software? Do all the forums upgrade software?

You are an inquistive one. First off, the software that allows the Drawing Board website to display the galleries is not forum based per se. Yes the Forums themselves get upgraded time to time as the software that runs them gets updates - just like your virus killers do. Sometimes these are to remove bugs or to improve performace.

This was very much the situation with the Drawing Board website - we were shifting it from Toon Zone to Cartoons Dammit! and it was a good time to look and see if we could find a more suitable piece of software to maintain the galleries that would improve performance - both from an adminstrator/webmaster POV and a user's perspective.

Actually, it wasn't technically a software "upgrade", as a shift to a new piece of software.
