I've been wondering, with all these new films in production from Marvel, why doesn't AOLTW ready up some DC films already? I think "Catwoman" is moving forward, but I honestly don't want to see that. I was beginning to get interested about the new "Batman/Superman" film, but nothing much has come out about it since. "Year One" sounded interesting, but I have yet to read the source material. Although I didn't initially like the idea of a relaunch and still am a bit skeptical, I'm a bit more open to "Y1."

Of course, I don't want these films to be rushed, however, I'd like to see DC/AOLTW make some more progress. I've kept up with recent rumors and was pretty annoyed when I heard that McG (or whatever his name is) was attached to do the new "Superman" film. I saw "Charlie's Angels" which was really campy, and I certainly hope that we don't get a campy "Superman" flick. Ang Lee is attached to do "The Hulk," yet McG is (supposedbly) attached to "Superman." I mean, couldn't WB do any better, assuming that this rumor is true? I don't know what other films McG did, but judging from "Charlie's Angels," I wouldn't want to see a "Superman" movie from him.

Sorry about that guys, just had to vent. It's one of those things that have been bothering me for a while, yet everytime I visit this board, I forget to post it. :)

Part of it may be due to the fact that Marvel is not aligned with any of the major media companies, so different studios will get a crack at the same properties at the same time. By contrast, WB will try keep the DC properties in-house, and has no interest in generating a release slate that's overly heavy with superhero comics. The very flood of Marvel work coming in from Fox, Columbia, Universal, etc. may also be a factor putting WB on the sidelines--it doesn't want to produce anything that could get lost in the flood.
