Firstly, hats off to Keifer Sutherland for winning Best Actor at the Golden Globes for 24, an awar dhe so richly deserves. Now...back to the show:
Wow - we gotta wait two weeks for the next episode, and I don't know if I can hold on! We have only 13 more episodes to go in the series (I can't see a season two happening) and everything is building up very nicely. The biggest show was Jamie's suicide (or attempt) at the end of the episode. This is a huge roadblock. But Teri does have the phone, even though she'll likely lose it based on the next episode previews.
Everything is just building towards what will no doubt be, a perfect finale.

Every episode has the intensity of a finale, I don't know if my ticker can handle the true finale. Yeah, looks like she'll lose the phone, but it was cool what Jack was telling the kidnapper when he had the phone. You gonna die, sucka!
Is Milo the guy from Six Feet Under? Sure looks like him.

Milo is indeed the same guy from Six Feet Under! I was wondering when someone would bring that up. And that threat by Jack was just...awesome! This will cause mroe complications for Gaines - but that's good news!
I'm working - why couldn't they trace the call, since Teri apparently didn't hang up. I know the number was blocked, but could they still trace the call?

Would it make any difference if they did? He was calling from a cell phone wasn't he? I guess at least they'd have the name of the person that phone was registered too. But a guy like Gaines has probably thought about that.
And what a mother will do for her daughter, whew!
Every time it looks like they're gonna get the upper hand on Gaines something else happens to twist it around. I'm with ya on not being able to wait two weeks for the next one. I'm ready to see it today.
Are we pretty sure that 24 will get to finish at this point? I know there was some doubt there for a while, but with the Golden Globe(Mr subliminal says "BS award show.") surely more folks will watch it. Sure would be a shame for everything they've been building to not be completed.
How do you think they figured out he was at the construction site? Also, very foolish to trust the waitress, why not go out the back window in the first place? She had already shown that she would try to get away at any chance.
I caught this show for the first time last night and I really liked it! I thought it really interesting and certainly innovative. I may turn in next week if "Smallville" is a repeat.

Ahhh....good point. At least Nina knows that Teri is still alive. Jack is probably still unsure after the events of the end of last week's episode. But what a cliffhanger this week involving Gaines. I say Soulpatch Tony should answer it - he can make up some alibi to by them some time.
And what a mother will do for her daughter, whew!
That was very surprising, and sounded creepy. I like how they drowned out all the background music and sound just so you couls hear the guy unzipo his pants and hear the bed a-rockin'. I bet she'll want to get some sweet payback after that.

Same here. Many epole applauded FOX forbring back the "serial" series - how sweet would it be if it was a daily show? I gues sone of th ebets parts of the show is anticipation.

FOX has definatly given the series a full 24 episode order (most shows now get only 21 - 22 episode orders) so will will see how this works out. Plus, ratings were up a bit (an extra million or two) thanks to the Golden Globe. And when FOX axes the "encore" presentations on Friday, ratings are expected to go up again for the Tuesday installments. The show, for this season, has a bright future. FOX says they plan to stick by this show until the end.

That's what I was thinking too! Once He got the bolt cutters and snapped the handcuffs, he could've taken off in the car without given away his location. And trusting the waitress wasn't a good move. It looks like he gets away, but gets caught next week by local authories. Is he ever gonan make it back to CTU? Geeze!

This certainly was a great ep! What's bugging me is why Walsh told Jack he could trust only Jamie.
It's kinda weird how when i start watching an ep and get into it, i want to see Jack resolve everything, and just end it. But then i want to keep watching more after it's over!

Actually, there are 15 more episodes to go. In two weeks it returns for 12 consecutive episodes according to the previews at the end of last nights episode. That will take us to April 23 when the 12th consecutive episode airs. It will probably take a few week break or so before returning in May to air the last 3 episodes.

I agree with everyone that this is a good series! The most shocking parts during the show was when the mother actually saves her daughter from getting sexually abused and did the job herself ! I couldn't believe that the daughter just sat there listening, I would've blasted that door to pieces and beat the crap out of the guy :D. But, I also understand that it would be difficult for them to get away if someone finds that guy laying unconscious, which would alert everyone in the area to find them.
The other shocking part was in the end, where Jamie layed there bleeding a whole lot ! I wonder if Jaime is dead or just unconscious. Also, Nina will have a hard time getting Jaime's son stalled for a while, while his mom is getting taken care of.
This show has great potential, and I just hope this show gets another season. This show does a great job of keeping us in suspense EVERY single episode. Can't wait for the new episode, after all, we've gone through a whole to get to where we are now, and I just can't wait! :bosko:

You mean they're not gonna break over the summer? I thought it was gonna be 12 and 12.

No, it won't be 12 and 12. Fox ordered the remaining 11 episodes to finish out the season. They had originally ordered 13 episodes. Once they saw ratings were good, they ordered the final 11. 9 episodes have aired already. In two weeks the first episode of 12 in a row starts. When that is over April 23rd, 21 episodes will have aired, so that leaves us with 3 more that Fox will probably air in mid to late May, possibly with the last episode airing on the first Tuesday in June. We all know what Foxes scheduling is capable of.

Sounds like they're screwing themselves by running the last three eps during summer vacation. But you said it all.
Have they talked about if that's gonna be the end for good, or are they planning something else along those lines. If it's a success I don't see how they could resist.

But the serial nature of the show hurts, right? I was talking to a friend recently, and he said he loved it. But he only say the first couple episodes, missed a whole bunch, and then was completely lost. So for that reason, he's not watching anymore. I don't know if that's a problem in general or not. I think the nature of the storytelling might be intimidating to some.

What I do sometimes, to get interest going, is tell a friend they can completely catch up on the official 24 website, becuase it has an episode guide and bios with poictures - so it's easy to figur eout who's who. This show is a bit hard to follow if you've missed alot of episodes, but the guide should make it easier to jump back on.
And the show should be done in may, like most other season finales. Man, May can't come any sooner...

Yeah, that's a great solution to that problem. I'll have to start telling people about that.

I've told my friends baout it - and thast they have two weeks to get caught up! :)
The show is really heating up. I wonder if Jack wil start to make some bad decisions due to his lack of sleep. He said in this week's episode he hasn't slept in over 24 hours, and he still has 15 more to go. I wonde rif this wil lhave any effect on his judgement.

I told my friend about that episode guide, Jim, and he's pretty excited. He's planning on checking it out when he has a chance.
Yeah, I was wondering about the sleep aspect too. This is the kind of thing we don't often see in most series, since events unfold over weeks or months with plenty of opportunities to sleep. I think the latter half the season is really going to show the impact of this being all within one 24 hour span.

I remember before it came out, people were saying "what are they gonna do about the time he's sleeping?" Looks like he's just not gonna get to sleep at all.
He's already starting to feel the effects and it's only been 9 hours, surely that's gonna start messing with him.
I'm with Optimal on this one. Why did Walsh tell him he could trust Jamie? Why only Jamie? It seems that he can trust many other people, but not Jamie.

His lack of sleep wil likely pay a big role in some upcoming episodes. That, or he'll just doze off for a show or two. :)
As for Jamie, it's possible that Walsh didn't know. I think his death was genuine, but perhaps Dennis Hopper's upcoming character (slated sometime in April I think) has something to do with his death. I think Gaines may have gotten to Jamie without anyone knowing.
Although is is sorta peculiar (spell wrong, I know)...
