It's kind of a weird question, but what is everyone's favorite song from a 1930's Merrie Melodie (if you have a favorite). Mine is "One More Time" .

My favorite: "You Don't Know What You're Doin'!" !! :D

Honorable mention: "A Great Big Bunch of You", "Pagan Moon"

...Can't be contained to one cartoon...
My nominees would be:

"Red Headed Baby" (Rudy on Speed;))

"One More Time" (love Foxy---the ultimate Mickey parody)

"She Was An Acrobat's Daughter" (please do NOT spit on the floor...!!!)

"The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down " (please pass the ketchup...)

"I Love To Singa" (I'd expect this one to win on musical appeal...)

I would have to go with "Freddy the Freshman."

--either "Boulevardier From the Bronx" (or "pacing music") or, for sneaking about, "Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg.

The Turtle hits the nail on the head again - "I Love To Singa" is my favorite! Heck, they even used it on South Park.

I also like "My Green Fedora" and the "Little Boys Shouldn't Smoke" version of Mysterious Mose...

I've only seen a total of one and a quarter Merrie Melodys from the singing era,and that's the whole Bolivarder Back From The Bronx, and the last few minutes of I Love To singa. So I'll vote for them. Incidentally I created a What If topic on what if the Merrie Melodies remained singing until 1964!

I love everything mentioned so far, especially "I Love To Singa," "The Merry Go Round Broke Down," "My Green Fedora," and "Little Boys Shouldn't Smoke" (though, that last one is really from a Looney Tune :p )

But the first "melodie" to pop into my head when reading this thread was the Robin Hood song from "Robin Hood Makes Good." I can't be the only person who "loves (those) little squirrels!"

I also love "Easy As Rollin' off a Log," the music box song from "Dog Gone Modern," and "Now That Summer Is Gone." (the version sung at the beginning of the cartoon, not the one sung by the squirrel...)

1930s Merrie Melodies were great!

I've always really liked the tunes "42nd Street", and "Black Coffee". "One More Time" is my favourite early B&W MM.

My choice: "Hittin' the Trail for Hallelujah Land"

Runner-Ups: "One More Time", "Lady Play Your Mandolin"

I always found "Hallelujah" to have much more action than the other Merrie Melodies at the time. I mean there's a lot of plots in it, but Piggy is UGLY. Too bad he only starred in two cartoons. Foxy's three cartoons are also enjoyable too.

I like "Lady Play Your mandolin" and "One More Time" the best, but "You don't know what you're doin'" and "Hittin The Trail For Hallelujia Land" are also very good.

Does anybody know where someone (namely me) could find the actual lyrics to these songs?

A lot of WB songs there, they even have the square dance lyrics from Hillbilly Hare on them!
