I've been following the TMNT comics since they first came back in 01. And I've read several of the old school ones to.

And I've been buying & reading TMNT since the 80s. Though, alas, not as far back as their first couple years- those issues are worth something now!

Speaking of TMNT comics, am I the only one who liked the short-lived Dreamwave TMNT comics? It was told from a different perspective and the art by LeSean Thomas was similar to TMNT 2003 but different enough to have it's own personality.

I thought the Dreamwave ones were okay but they really should have made more original stories.

Gotta say I love my Mirage reprinted 1-3 of the original comics (colored I might add). It's great to see the turtle's roots. It almost makes you wonder why they wanted to make it kid friendly. It was some pretty gritty stuff. I guess they figured the concept was so ludicrous that it had to work with kids. But I'm thankful because that 80s-90s cartoon was a notable part of my childhood.

I hear that Mirage is going to release Forever War (something planned for Archie I believe). I look forward to that because it looks interesting. And if its out... somebody tell me where I can find it.

I didn't get to read much of Dreamwave comics but the art was quite good so it's a shame DW cut it off so soon.

I'd like to, if TRADE PAPERBACKS OF ORIGINAL VERSIONS WOULD COME OUT. I'd love to read the fraking things. Maybe to tie in with the new movie. I can always dream...

Last I heard it was still being developed. They are pretty busy with the new movie over there so it must have been delayed.

If you go on Mirages official TMNT website you can order some of the older trade paperbacks that collect some of the original comics. And Mirage has just released the first trade paperback of the New Tales of the TMNT, with more to come. The ones for volume 4 however were delayed because of the movie.

I'm just hoping that the movie will get some of the old TMNT Adventures and original Easman and Laird works out in good TPBs. I'd love to read that stuff, and would gladly pay for, it's just not out. I hope the movie will change that.

Volume 1 issues (most of them anyway) are well worth the read and the money.

I love the old Mirage TMNT comics!

Peter Laird was working on new ones, but he was doing it slowly, and is likely not doing it at all now because of the movie. As for the Archie series, I wouldn't count on it.

I can always dream. It'd be ideal tie-in merchandise.
