No kidding!

Alot of people find it so awful that it was good and got kind of a cult following.

I couldn't watch it all the way through, but hope to someday.

Amoung his other works ranks, The Frighteners which I thought was pretty frelling good.

The Frighteners - isn't that the movie with Michael J. Fox where sees ghosts? I remember it was a comedy/horror film, one which I enjoyed.

He also did this gross out movie where the poster had a flying the bird, but it came with a sticker that uptight movie stores could pull off and it turned into a peace sign.

This movie was called Bad Taste and was recently released on DVD by Anchor Bay. It has a lenticular cover that features both sets of gestures if one tilts it back and forth.

Other Peter Jackson movies I've seen and liked:

-- Meet The Feebles. Behind the scenes at a Muppet-type show. Here the puppets fight and backstab each other. It's quite violent and nasty. Also very funny if one's in the modd for this.

-- Forgotten Silver. If you like film history and mockumentaries, you'll probably enjoy this. It's about New Zealand's pioneer silent film-maker Colin MacKenzie J(he also invented color film and sound film). It was made for New Zealand television and actually fooled some viewers.

-- Heavenly Creatures. A true crime story about two teenage girls who decide to kill the mother who wants to end their friendship. It has some effective fantasy sequences. Kate Winslet plays one of the girls.

I think one of Peter Jackson's great strengths as a film maker is that he is able to use special effects in the service of a story without overpowering it. I hope he gets to do that King Kong remake he was planning someday.
