Why did they replace Brendon's Mom's orginal Voice actress with Paula Poundstone? Its not like I have anything against paula.. I just like the original actresse's voice better :(

I think Paula was the original & she was replaced. At least that's what IMDB thinks:

Her story is on Dateline tonight.
Didn't she molest kids or something?

...er something.
Anyway, the real question is why isn't it all squigly anymore? And why is Duane so chatty in tonight's episode (Hiatus)? I thought his thing was that he only spoke through song....

Actually, Duane talks now and then, he just is usually a typical musician airhead, and grunts or groans alot instead. Ive heared him talk a few times before, like when he asked about which video was going to be in HIS cut (Louis/Kafka) I think.

its not squiggly because they used to draw the toon by hand. for the new seasom, however, they are using macromedia's FLASH, so now it is more fluid, and doesn't jitter the way it used to.
(frankly, i liked it more when it was squiggly, but im sure ill get used to the flash animation...)
hope i could help.

I never knew about the molesting childeren thing with Paula Poundstone. I saw a commercial for the special minutes before it came on, and made my family watch it because it was the only and only PAULA POUNDSTONE! Hey, she was the voice of the mom for some of the episodes in the first season of HOME MOVIES! MY FAVORITE SHOW!
So they watched as I did, and the fact that she was accused as being a child molestor certaintly was a shock to both me and the rest of my family. I personally don't believe it. She's such an intellegent person... a very nice person indeed.

The old squiggle was obviously on purpose. No one draws that sloppily. It's just like Dr. Katz. They were both "Squiggle Vision" shows. I don't know why they would go away from it. What was good about it, besides just looking a little different, was that it helped hide how few frames they actualy draw for the show. Show one frame for five seconds and the show seems cheap. Run it through a "squiggle filter" and that one drawn frame suddenly feels a lot more active.

I have to admit.. I like the 'squiggle vision' too. I was (and am) a BIG fan of Dr. Kats. its a fun cartoon, and was always a good lead into 'The Critic'. ;)

They still draw Home Movies, guys. Ever hear of graphic tablets?
They use Flash so that they can put in MORE frames than would be possible with Animator Pro Squigglevision. Animator Pro is also for DOS, I think.
They had to get out of the dark ages.

Actually, Paula Poundstone left Home Movies before the whole legal thing came up. She was on the first 6 eps, but dropped out of the project when they went back to finish the season. I read on Zap2It that she originally got in trouble because she took her kids for ice cream while she was drunk, sounds like something Paula Small would do.

Yeah, I know.
Is there any way someone could get a hold of "Animator Pro"?
