Why I used to love BTAS so much. The simple animation, reminding me of the old Fleischer Superman cartoons, and the stuff that long time Batfans would get a kick out of, like Batmite. Oh yeah, and the whole Batgrapple thing.

Timm and company did the most recent version of the Superman animated series. But theres a series of much older animated Superman shorts done by Fleischer.

There were earlier Superman toons, done by Max Fleischer and others, that Timm says he was heavily influenced by. The toons are old, but they were great. Just great animation for that time. Good music...kinda cheesy plots, with robots and mad scientists, but it was Superman...
