I have pondered this for some time now. Bar villains like the Penguin and Mad Hatter, most of Batman's rouges gallery wear quite unique costumes. Do you know how hard it is to find a purple or two-tone tux? Green bowlers? Question mark canes? Now, I know I'm looking a bit too deeply into this, but it's a fun notion. I mean, I can't really imagine the Joker or Two-Face making their own clothes. Although, anything's possible in the realms of fantasy. :D Any thoughts?

You could bring up the same point about Batman and Robin, and despite the bad guys & gals not having a butler, it all comes down to one thing--MONEY. If you have enough money you can do just about anything, including hiring a taylor to do make whatever you want.

(Or you could just threaten to kill a taylor unless he/she does what you want. ;) Whichever works.)

Now I know how Britney Spears got her red catsuit :D

I don't think the make their suits by themselves, I assume Two-Face's suit was done by Max and Min, his first (two) henchmen.

Aw, there's just some people that you can't threaten to kill: your tailor, your waiter, and your doctor. Anyone else is fair game, :D.

Maybe the Rogues have somebody on retainer. The Flash's villains had their suits done by the same guy in the Silver Age. Anyway, I want to know where they go! I'd love a custom made purple suit with a purple bowler hat!

It's Earl Cooper, I bet. Moonlighting as a tailor for the supervillains. :D

I'm sure there are plenty of tailors willing to make an extra buck by making a stylized suit for supervillains. And if the villain is smart, they would order more than one at a time. Kinda like an episode of the old Doug, where he opened up his closet and all he had were his standard white t-shirt, green vest and brown shorts. Heck, they made an ep about it. But I got off track.

I just fear for the tailor who measures his inseams with incorrectly... :wakko:

Finding a purple zoot suit like Joker's isn't too hard! :)

Actually the Joker had his suit even before he became the Joker, right? The guys who wanted to rob the Monarch/ACE factory told him to dress up in a weird suit.

Maybe, but finding a good one is!

Where did you hear about this? It wasn't in the animated world, when you see him fall into the vat there he's wearing a regular suit. Why would he dress up in a weird suit?

I just think there is some evil tailor out there who makes clothes for all of them, you know? That's his title "Evil Tailor". He sounds like a villain himself. :D

my assumptions about the Joker's suit are based on "The Killing Joke" Of course, in BTAS it was different, although they never really made a Joker origin episode :(

There was actually a Batman short story called "Neutral Ground" by Mike Resnick which was all about a tailor who did this kinda stuff for people like the Riddler....it had some pretty funny dialogue, too, regarding the Riddler's specific request of 83 question marks on his suit...

lol, this topic actually got me thinking! darn you! It is quite an interesting question, and it never occurred to me where these guys might get their suits done. For Batman and friends, it's easy, they have money, repair their own suits or can have Alfred do it, something like that. But the villains? I'd have to agree, an Evil Tailor guy out there sounds like a good idea, hehe. Otherwise all the villains are either very good seamstressers, or one of their henchman is. Must be hard to find henchman that can sew nowadays...

So... conceivably, say there was one, single "evil tailor" someone like Batman or Superman could take him out and then all of the villains would either have to fight naked or in tattered rags? :p

Finding a 'Joker Purple' (yes, that's it's official colour):

zoot suit of a relatively high quality is easy enough, but Joker doesn't wear a zoot suit in any of the animated shows. :)

If there's ever a classic "pimp" look, that's it right there. Right down to the feather.

Hey, that's pretty cool! I wasn't ragging on it, in fact, I wouldn't mind having a zoot suit myself, in a different color though. :)
