Great Joe opening. I liked "paper champions".

http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif at "gringo meat." Konnan continues to amuse me every week.

I guess that Lynn segment was meant to thankfully kill the Jackass angle. Thank God.

I hate to say it, but Nash saying the X-Division is at an all-time low was funny. http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gifhttp://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gifhttp://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif at Nash saying he built the X-Division. hopefully he can keep up the moderatley amusing Paparrazi Productions angle, which may mean that some Madgascar wrestlers could be showing up at TNA. http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gifhttp://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

I guess that means the end of the James gang. That was out of nowhere. I guess Russo is to blame.

The Angle interview was a bit of a letdown. Not much ground was broken. Just Vince telling Kurt his medal meant nothing. I guess that explains a lot of the rumors.

I was digging the main event till a cast of thousands interfered. What an overbooked mess. But that's a staple of Russo shows.

Overall, better than last week. Still not a solid show though. Lots of flaws.

Tonight's show was the best Impact in a while, but the Angle interview was way too short (like all of TNA's insight interviews).

Decent show I guess, I'm still very new to TNA. I knew the Angle interview was going to be short since its only an hour show but I hope they put up all the material they recorded online, not just the TV segment that aired. Still got some answers from Kurt though and Vince McMahon saying a gold medal doesn't mean sh*t? Seriously if he said that, he really doesn't have much respect for anything. But I guess the whole Eddie angle is already proof of that.

I do have to say, Christian Cage's entrance is greatness. I was one of his peeps back in his WWE days and still a fan of the guy, he's got a great sense of humor and charisma. Something I just realized while typing this, barely any Jeff Jarrett this week

Jeff Jarrett only appears at the start of the show. Good!!:D

Way too much talking and not enough action. Do we need to queue up Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation"? Yeah, I think so!!

8-man match was okay, but deserved more time. For those of you who've complained about the "Jackass" angle, it's corporate synergy at work, not really having anything to do with TNA itself, but rather Spike and Paramount. Someone from Viacom waved some money at Jarrett & Dixie Carter to do a cross-promotion angle, probably as a side deal as they're hitting their 1st anniversary on Spike.

Let's see. 2 tag teams (Diamonds in the Rough, James Gang) being split up without any real buildup? Russo caught Eric Bischoff's anti-tag team disease in WCW, and has brought it to TNA. Oh, please. Next thing ya know, Kip James will disappear within 3-5 months, then return to WWE as Billy Gunn around this time next year, after mending his fences there.

Joe vs. Cage was great, and they were able to tie in the Monster's Ball by having Abyss, Raven, & Bro. Runt run-in. Then there's Rhino, who has an issue with Cage. All they needed was Jarrett suddenly showing up (if you want something done right, do it yourself) to make this perfect.

You know Joe will win the Monster's Ball (there's just no other conclusion to be reached). Sting will probably be screwjobbed into retirement to set up Joe-Jarrett for the title, and we'll finish with Joe as NWA champ, unless Jarrett gets scared to the point where he won't job.

I find irony in Kevin Nash's remarks about the X-Division, given the cross-promotion that has gone on. He's a walking cancer to those guys himself, and needs to retire.

Retirement also beckons for Kurt Angle. I'm sorry, but I disagree with his decision to go to TNA. He's alienated UFC with his antics, and he may've permanently alienated the McMahons, too. However, it's been nearly 1 year since we lost Eddie Guerrero, and I fear that Angle may be the next one to go, if he doesn't check himself physically & mentally soon. I give him less than 6 months in TNA before he's on the DL again.
BTW, when he talked about the CEO of WWE, that meant he was referring to Linda, not Vince.

Anyone else want to see LAX break up? Homicide needs to shine on his own, IMPO, and not need Konnan talking for him, either.

In the case of the James Gang, I think this "split" is understandable if you remember that this is going on when they were being interviewed about the Sting/Jeff Jarrett match, with both members having different opinions on Jeff Jarrett (especially if you actually remember that one of the members of the James Gang got his start in the major wrestling leagues as Jarrett's "roadie" during his country singer gimmick).

Diamonds in the Rough may not break up, Elix will leave them, but they could replace him with someone else. Elix, Killings, and probably Monty Brown will form an all black stable soon. Kip James and BG James breaking up, oh well. They do better feuding with each other anyway and TNA needs to focus on young tag-teams not old ones.

Sting will probably be screwjobbed into retirement to set up Joe-Jarrett for the title, and we'll finish with Joe as NWA champ, unless Jarrett gets scared to the point where he won't job. My guess is Sting will win the belt, as he doesn't plan on retiring till next year and he will hopefully feud with Christian, since they still have heat with each other. Jarret will hopefully take a break for awhile and stay off TV for several months and in the mean time Samoa Joe will feud with Kurt Angle and eventually become the NWA Heavyweight Champion after defeating either Sting, Christian, or Kurt Angle for the belt sometime in the Summer of 07'

I find irony in Kevin Nash's remarks about the X-Division, given the cross-promotion that has gone on. He's a walking cancer to those guys himself, and needs to retire. As long as Nash doesn't wrestle and just talks that is fine by me. I enjoy Nash's mic skills he is quite entertaining and he is right about the X Divison it hasn't been very good for awhile and while it will never get to it's original glory back in the early days when matches like (in my opinion the best match in the history of TNA) the triple ladder match between AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn, and Low-Ki took place. It could definintley be much better than it is, that belt really needs to be on someone like Alex Shelly who is talented on every level and with Nash and Devine backing him up, it could make for some very interesting angles.

Retirement also beckons for Kurt Angle. I'm sorry, but I disagree with his decision to go to TNA. He's alienated UFC with his antics, and he may've permanently alienated the McMahons, too. Are you serious? Kurt will only be wrestling a couple times a month verus 4-5 times a week. If he stayed with the WWE or went to UFC then maybe I would be more inclined to agree with you, but on the TNA schedule Kurt Angle will more than likely look better in the ring than he has in years, just for the simple fact that he has time to rest and regroup both physically and mentally after matches now. Kurt will be fine and he will help make some carrers and some money for TNA as well.

Anyone else want to see LAX break up? Homicide needs to shine on his own, IMPO, and not need Konnan talking for him, either.
LAX is an awesome stable and Homicide and Hernadez make an incredibly good tag-team. Konnan works perefect as a mouth peice, sure the guy isn't the best wrestler, but it when it comes to talking he is pretty good at that. LAX will stick around for awhile.

I always have to catch Impact on the Saturday night replay. I'm anxious to hear what Kurt has to say. I'll have more to add Sunday morning.

Midway better remember to include our Olympic hero in the "TNA Impact" video game. :anime:

Angle will be in the game when it releases, which is looking like Fall of 2007.

Good, solid iMPACT. Much better than the shows of previous weeks. Christian Cage is a god on the mic, and even though I could barely keep my eyes open during his match, what I caught was pretty good. I liked how they cut real quickly to Raven talking to everybody, and then cut back to the match. Makes wrestling seem more realistic then when Borash just goes around interviewing people.

And I back up the sentiments that Alex Shelly needs the X-Division title. He's all around one of the most talented wrestlers in TNA.

Is anyone else getting tired of the up the leg shot of the ring girls? It just seems gratuitous to me.

During the build for the last PPV, I really didn’t like “Samoa Joe: Man of the People” but this week I really liked Joe’s impassioned speech about the NWA Title and Jeff Jarrett’s holding of it (noticed he didn’t rattle off Flair and Rhodes in his champion list though).

I felt like it came out of nowhere, but the LAX-Styles/Daniels feud has really gotten intense. It’s just fights and brawls, but I don’t want to see any of these guys do a whole lot of talking.

Man, with the Truth I already didn’t like the “what do guys think of Jarrett-Sting” and then Rhino rants about being asked. :p Wow. Then we got more of them throughout the hour. And then the James Gang breaks up during one?

Bobby Roode looked like he was talking to Traci’s breasts to me, but does that make her the choice or an assistant? I can’t place it right off the top of my head, but I think that music playing in the background used to be a WWE theme.

You pretty much can’t go wrong when you put eight X Division wrestlers in the same ring. I didn’t really get a lot out of the match though, other than the observation that for as popular as he is and as built up as he is, Alex Shelley sure seems to job a lot.

Kevin Nash is funny, but this was not one of his finer moments.

The Sting ‘darkness’ video might have been the best one so far, but these aren’t really doing a lot for me.

My first reaction to the next segment was “Who the heck wins a match between Diamonds in the Rough and a team that has Lance Hoyt & K-Kwik?” Better yet, “Does anyone care?”

 I’d like to see Elix Skipper do more, but I’d rather not see any of it involved Ron Killings.

Raven’s attempt to rally Abyss was odd to see. Not sure where this is going.

As a fan, it really did me good to see that Kurt Angle interview. Kurt seems like he is in a lot better place than we all believed he was previously. I wish it had to been longer, but I really feel a lot better about everything now.

No Penzer on the introductions would have fully put the ladder challenge over. If it’s not an official match why is the ring announcer introducing the non-match and the combatants? Once everyone ran in the ring again, I just didn’t care. The epic battle become another TNA run-in joke.

LAX is the best thing by far in TNA, so I don't want to see them broken up. Angle didn't alienate UFC with his actions. In fact, Dana White was one of the few people told that Angle was going to TNA because Angle wanted to show his appreciation for Dana's interest in him. There's a lot on Angle's proposed UFC plans in the newest Wrestling Observer, which is a fantastic read just for the Pillman bio. If he lasts 6 months in TNA without some kind of injury, I'll be shocked. He tore THREE MUSCLES in his last WWE match, and that was with him doing his protective shooter gimmick.

No, it was a house show match against Rob Van Dam. It was mainly the horrendous house show schedule that put him in the bad shape he's in.

Is anyone else getting tired of the up the leg shot of the ring girls? It just seems gratuitous to me.From what I've gathered by looking around, she's one of the women wrestlers TNA will use when they finally get two hours. But until then, ring shots thought her legs are all we're getting, and I'm not complaining.

I can’t place it right off the top of my head, but I think that music playing in the background used to be a WWE theme.I thought about it some more and I think I placed the music! They might have used it again, but it was the theme of the Hardy Boyz when they first hooked up with Michael Hayes.

Quick note about Kurt Angle talking about the cup of coffee and his olympic gold medal. I guess that was what he meant about Vince Mcmahon and the next cup of coffee is on him in his personal letter released days after his release from WWE, if anyone remembers that letter that is.

Brian "BG" James debuted in WCW in the early 90's wrestling with his brothers before jumping to WWE in 1994-5 to team with Jarrett. Like I said, he's showing his loyalty to his pal Jarrett, as he's been with TNA from the start. Unfortunately was never able to parlay his singing talent into a recording deal. Be that as it may, the bit with the James Gang could lead to a civil war type angle with certain of the TNA roster being like James, loyal to Jingles, while everyone else wants Jarrett gone.

Kip James and BG James breaking up, oh well. They do better feuding with each other anyway and TNA needs to focus on young tag-teams not old ones.

Who would you suggest to replace Skipper? If Simon's not going to wrestle, why not see about bringing back Johnny Swinger (Parisi)?

My guess is Sting will win the belt, as he doesn't plan on retiring till next year and he will hopefully feud with Christian, since they still have heat with each other. Jarret will hopefully take a break for awhile and stay off TV for several months and in the mean time Samoa Joe will feud with Kurt Angle and eventually become the NWA Heavyweight Champion after defeating either Sting, Christian, or Kurt Angle for the belt sometime in the Summer of 07'

With Jarrett still involved in the booking, no one's really sure what direction they'll take, and Sting being a transitional champ, dropping the title to either Cage, Angle, or Joe after dismissing Jarrett, would make sense. Can't see him as a long-term champion. Getting Jarrett off TV for a year tops would be good for business, as this will let Jeff be more of an ambassador for the company, and reinvent himself in the process.

I'll take that idea one step further, Sigma, and suggest that the Paparazzi could be tag team champs at some point, assuming Styles & Daniels retain at Bound For Glory (which I don't see happening right now).

Are you serious? Kurt will only be wrestling a couple times a month verus 4-5 times a week. Kurt will be fine and he will help make some carrers and some money for TNA as well.

Granted, it's a lighter schedule, but I'd say that if I'm Kurt I wait until I know for sure I'm 100% healthy before I step into the hexagonal ring in TNA. Maximize the time available, and use it positively.

I think they will get the titles back and feud with Team 3D for the winter. I can see some streetfight matches coming if that happens. Would it be a plus if there was a way to work in 'Cide's teammates in ROH (Ricky Reyes, Julius Smokes, et al)?
