Availability of Big O

I just got back from getting Big O Volume 3 and 4 on DVD. I bought Volume 3 at Best Buy (gift certificate) and Volume 4 at Gamestop . Not only did I get the last Volume 4, but I also got the very last Big O DVD that they had. So I was wondering, has anyone seen a lot of Big O DVD's or very few??

I see a couple at best buy when I stop by there, but I never see them at any other place that sells dvds. (tower, bookstores, suncoast) but that may be local thing, or because they sell out, i'm not sure.

Best bet is to check online retailers. Usually cheaper & faster restocking :)

The only problem with buying online is that by the time you pay the shipping fees along with the original price, it's about the same price as in the store. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, with nary a Suncoast or Best Buy to be found.

I was lucky when I got Big O Volume 1. I got it off of Ebay for around $17.00, with shipping included. It really does pay off to shop around.

Actually, it's a bunch cheaper even with shipping since you don't pay sales tax (unless you're in the same state as the online company). BestPrices.COM comes out a bunch less than the standard brick & mortar. Other sites like DVDPlanet do a great job on preorders (30% off retail price on Love Hina, etc). You also save a bunch more if you order multiple things at once to reduce the agregate shipping price.

Trust me, I've done a bunch of analysis on the whole thing :)

I look at it this way: I went to AnimeNation.com a while back, wanting to order ONE Evangelion tape. The base price was $19.95, about $5 cheaper than the store price. But add on the S&H, and it's about $1 cheaper than getting it at Media Play, including tax. I agree that buying in bulk will eventually make it cheaper, but if you're just looking for one tape or DVD, it's a lot easier & safer buying it at the store, plus you don't have to wait a month and a half to get your stuff.

AnimeNation.COM is one of the higher priced online sites....

To each their own... I love the fact that I don't have to go out, get a more limited selection and pay tax. Every week or so the mail room guy rolls by and drops a disc or two on my desk and I saved time & cash. Not having to go to the mall to get something is a big plus (hate shopping...). It usually takes about a week or so to get things (I'm not in a big hurry most of the time - although I'll admit to going to Suncoast if I'm jonesing for a quick fix of something)
