Does Kryptonite affect any other Kryptonians?

In "Bizzaro's World" Bizzaro throws the Kryptonite back at Superman. Now, this universe might have things set up differently, but Krypto is from Krypton (what a stupid name for Superman's dog, BTW. Anybody here have a dog named Eartho?) so why didn't the kryptonite affect Krypto?

Was Krypto from Krypton?

I thought it was just a random alien "dog" that was part of the "zoo"

It's been quite a while since I read the classic Superman stories so my memory may be a bit foggy on some details, and I think there have been various stories describing how Krypto came to Earth (one I am recalling had the dog stow away in Clark's rocket) but one thing that we know from the comics is that Krypto is a pure bred breed only found on Krypton.

"Krypto" is not from krypton, i think rather it is simply another of the "last species" that superman saved from that collecter.
Bizzaro named him Krypto most likely after watching the records from the "shiny ball"
I think its safe to hint that Superman's orignal dog was also named Kryto then, as Bizzaro was doing everything to recreate his home, from the the building, to "dadda" to even playing out the end of krypton
so no, Krypto the beast is not from the planet Krypton, just part of Bizzaro's imagination

Yes, in the COMICS Krypto was SUPERMAN'S Dog, who was from Krypton....

yeah, but the dog we see in the flash back was probably Krypto, but the tri-mouth beast isn't

Anyways, pre-Crisis, Krypto was some dog that was launched into space from Krypton before the explosion and somehow made it to Earth. I think that it was part of some experiment, at least in the version of the story that I read. That sounds a little too corny for me, so I want to think that they've changed it for post-Crisis. That might not be the case though...

Yeah, I guess the STAS Krypto wasn't from Krypton, so that makes sense, how he wasn't affected by Kryptonite. There are way too many "Kryptos" in that sentence...

I liked "Krypto!" I was actually disappointed that he wasn't packaged with the Bizarro action figure.

What can I say, they're kind of corny, but at the same time, they're so corny that you kind of have to love 'em. I might try to dig up some stuff on the Super- and Bat-pets and see if I can post it here.

I also found some stuff at other places on Lex Luthor's dog, Destructo, and Bizarro Krypto, and other weird stuff. I didn't realize how bad that pet stuff got! :eek:

I thought that Batman had more than just Ace the Bathound, but I guess that's it for him.

And yes, I had nothing better to do than look this up. Nyaah! :p

Well, Beppo the Supermonkey did make an appearance as Titano's toy monkey in Monkey Fun. It wasn't really him, but it had the same name.
