Thought I'd just post this as a reminder of why some of us might have today off from school/work (and the U.S. mail not being delivered). I don't have a link available off-hand or much that's poignant to say (or hasn't been said already), but just thought it'd be nice to think about MLK's influence on society, and what he's done for African-Americans (and the rest of American society's various other ethnic groups).
Re:the WB: I presume if KWB planned to make some sort of "special bumper" to commemorate MLK/Black History Month, I presume they'd be replacing the now-cancelled BB/MiB characters they used last time with "Static Shock" (and maybe characters from "X-Men")...

Yes, it's good to stop and reflect upon MLK and everything his work and his memory stands for. He was a great man with a great message.
Unfortunately, the Arkansas paper didn't do squat for MLK day. This, after writing TWO huge editorials and running the same damn editorial cartoon that runs every year, all for Robert E. Lee. A great man to be sure, but the way people sees him as an MLK alternative chaps my hide.

--resurrect the M.L. King segment from "Heroes of Truth and Justice" (Histeria!) They could dub out Big Fat Baby and splice in a few extra crowd scenes from other shows (like the teens in the bleachers from X-Men:Evolution) between footage of King speaking. Though even edited that could run five or six minutes, which is three times the length of KWB's usual bits....

---and yet it'd still be three times as *entertaining*/redeemable (at least) than the usual stock-footage promo stuff ;-)
