Which character do you like better, Bosko (1930-1933) or Buddy (1933-1935)?

Let's see...Bosko was a Mickey Mouse knockoff, and Buddy was a last minute replacement for Bosko....I'm going to say....neither one of them was worth anything. Warner Bros. cartoons got much better when Porky and Daffy appeared.

Welllll Pilmedium...
Howard's point about Bosko being a M Mouse ripoff is the usual analysis. Buuuuut considering that Mickey was Walt's (and Ub's) own ripoff of former D*sn*y creation Oswald, then it becomes a moot point (it gets stranger still since Hugh Harman trademarked Bosko in 1928, if memory serves). Annnnnnd Bosko was in many ways a sublime innocent just by nature, whereas the Mouse was anything but guileless in the beginning. But though throughly innocent Bosko was invested with a dizzying high energy (as were Ising's Merrie Melodies).
I personally like Buddy (making me obviously demented;)), even though he was the offspring of D*sn*y dropouts Earl Duvall and Tom Palmer (and the first Schlesinger fire-ees). And there truly is a gentle charm to the Buddy cartoons.
Buuuuut of the two... Bosko wins in my little book.
