Slow to start but when it started it was a Rolling start...
Especaily the last five minutes.

Yeah, there was a good deal of scene-setting in there, but I rather enjoyed it overall. So far it seems that the series will be pretty by-the-numbers but good fun nonetheless.
(not sure about the editing in the fight with that girl's dad, though...)
That overly annoying zoom in effetc got annoying very quickly.
But it was ok, plus they aired a trailer for Torchwood straight after it!!

Right now, my thought is it's trying to cash in on the success Doctor Who has had in the same slot. However, it's generally good clean fun and alot better than that awful American 'New Adventures of Robin Hood' (Marian having daggers disguised as hairclips is alot better than making her some stupid Xena knock-off).

Yeah, its' not going to set the world alight like the good Doctor did but that's ok.
Actualy, if this sorta drama thing becomes the norm for the UK, That would make me happy.

Can they budget for that? I know Davies has said Who has issues with budget and with the BBC apparently planning to milk that universe with various spin-offs...

I'm talking in the Crystal Tokyo land of fearies and such Ultra-super-unlikely sincario of things.

I find my mind irresistibly drawn to cheesy crossover potential!

So how does this compare with the last somewhat cheesy attempt by British Television to film Robin Hood?

No idea, but it's not a Maid Marien and her merry men in any case.
