I'm not surprised. (http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-whowantstobeasuperheroscifisecondseason,0,2437069.story?coll=zap-tv-headlines)
Woo-hoo! This'll make a lot of you happy. I know I'm glad they renewed it.

Edit: Darn. I forgot to put it in quotes. I wish we could change our titles.

but when that was great

I shall certainly be giving this a look.

Though, I doubt they'll be able to recreate the 'fresh' sense of the first season (Feedback's boyish enthusiasm = Show Saver.) Let's see whether the new challenges will be adequate compensation.

btw, did they ever make the movie? or did I miss it?They'll probably air it soon whenever the heck they finish. I'm more looking forward to the comic book myself (unless that's already out).
Edit: It's being released at a later date (November 29th to be exact). (http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=14-295)

I really enjoyed the first season, I'm afraid a follow-up will be a rehash with different characters, but we'll see what happens. Other reality shows have managed to stay fresh, hopefully this one will too.

I enjoyed the first season, but I felt it was a bit rushed (with two eliminations every night). I would have enjoyed it more over a longer time span. This time it'll be increased to 10 weeks instead of 6, so while the plot will probably be similiar, it'll be enjoyable seeing more of the individual's real life. Who knows. Maybe Dark Enforcer will return as the villian.

I loved the show, let's hope they improve and make it longer.
Dark Enforcer FTW.

Awesome. I was obsessed with this show when it was airing. I hope they have more open casting calls around the country. I know I'd never make it on the actual show, but I think it'd really fun just to try out.

Also, anybody know if the DVD of season 1 came out in stores yet? I went to my local Best Buy and Wal-Mart the weekend after the date it was supposedly released (according to the Sci-Fi website) and neither of them had it.

IIRC it's only avaliable on Sci-Fi's website.

This time, I'll make episodic talkbacks instead of a season talkback. That thing was a lot longer than I expected it to be.

Ooh! Another season? That doesn't surprise me. Good to hear that! Expect a guaranteed Feedback appearance in the next season! I can't wait!

It probably would! I'll try out myself, if they do any casting calls near me (I am within commuting distance of NYC.)
And when I don't get picked, I'll be relieved I'll never face the humiliation of turning in my costume.

I really hope the second season tanks so badly they cancel it forever.

I really hope the second season tanks so badly they cancel it forever.I said the same thing about Survivor, Big Brother, Fear Factor, and just about every other reality show. Sadly, television just never does what you want it to do.

WWtBaS was absolutely fantastic the first time around, but like some of you I'm very skeptical about how well it can hold up year after year. Of course, I was also skeptical about 24's longevity way back when, so here's hoping.

Sadly, television just never does what you want it to do.Those I knew would last, they have the ultimate staying power in mathmatics. Vast majority of humans are stupid fools + they air on broadcast channels so the stations get maximum coverage + the networks cater to the lowest common denominator (the stupid humans) = staying power out the frelling wazoo. The shows will last as long as they get morons to join, and get morons to watch. As long as both continue corporations will still pony up the cash to make them.

Okay, first of all, Fear Factor isn't even on the air anymore. Second of all, what makes you think only morons watch Survivor and Big Brother? Have you ever even watched those shows? In order to win those shows it takes strategy. It at least takes more mental power than football and baseball. I mean, why do people make generalizations about the audience of reality shows and not make generalizations about the audience of sports? I mean, they're both competitions.

I'm actually really sick of people just bashing all reality shows for no reason. Yes, there are some bad reality shows out there, but there are bad shows in every genre. I mean, people on these boards always complain when people make generalizations that "Cartoons are for kids" and then they go right on and make generalizations that "Reality shows are for morons".

PUT MAN-FAYE ON THE SHOW THIS TIME!

Seriously. Man-Faye owns.

I'm actually really sick of people just bashing all reality shows for no reason. They call it reality, no reality exists like the ones on those shows except in fantasy land. Thus they get bashed most deservingly. Stuck on an island you won't play games like that for points and you most certainly won't get voted off the island. You stay there until you die or get rescued that is reality not the garbage that is Survivor.

Yes, there are some bad reality shows out there, but there are bad shows in every genre. That entire genre is bad. It has absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever.

I mean, people on these boards always complain when people make generalizations that "Cartoons are for kids" and then they go right on and make generalizations that "Reality shows are for morons".Don't forget stoners as well.

I'm not a fan of reality shows but gave it a shot because I like superhero stuff. I thought the first season was interesting until about episode four. I stuck with it since the season was only six episodes but I won't bother watching another season.

What they ought to do in the 2nd season, is not only have Stan Lee (on a TV), but then have either Mark Millar or Grant Morrison pop up (on another TV) as an evil mastermind creating villians.

By the way, does anyone else suspect that they recorded all the Stan Lee segments in one day, then scripted the entire rest of the show to match up with what he's saying?

SciFi.com, the Web site of Sci Fi Channel, will expand the online programming of its Sci Fi Pulse (http://www.scifi.com/pulse) broadband network with the tentatively titled The Superhero After Show, a companion to Sci Fi Channel's hit reality series Who Wants to Be a Superhero?, Craig Engler, senior vice president of SciFi.com and Sci Fi Magazine, announced. The announcement came at Sci Fi Channel's upfront press event on March 21 in New York.

The Superhero After Show, hosted by season-one runner-up Major Victory (!), will be posted immediately after each new episode of the upcoming second season. Major Victory will interview Superhero contestants as they depart the show. Each departing challenger will share reflections on his or her show experience and plans for the future exclusively on Sci Fi Pulse.

Major Victory, also known as Chris Watters, became a fan favorite in Superhero's breakout first season for injecting the show with his heartfelt brand of humor and spunk. Who Wants to Be a Superhero? is a production of Nash Entertainment, in association with Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment Inc. Bruce Nash and Stan Lee serve as executive producers.

Good thing I won't have many long droughts of new stuff I like on Sci Fi. BSG ends this week, Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis begin next month, Who Wants to Be a Superhero in July, Eureka in summer, and probably BSG this fall.

Some major information about Season 2 has been released!

According to TV Guide Magazine, this year's season will take place in a fictional city rather than just a secret lair, Stan Lee won't be just be appearing on moniters everywhere like last time, and the heroes will face off against three recurring villians! :D

Also, the finalists have been revealed. (http://www.forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopic=2277047)

Here are the names of each of the contestants:

Mindset (Formerly known as Omnicron, is also the SciFi.com voted finalist.)
Mr. Mitzvah
Ms. Limelight
Hyperstrike
Basura
Whip-Snap
Hygena
Braid
Parthenon
The Defuser (Formerly known as Takedown)

The above link provides a brief description of their powers.

I'm afraid the link doesn't work for me.

I do hope these new contestants are more interesting than their names suggest- too many of 'em sound like cleaning products.

'Mr. Mitzvah'? Please tell me he's not in the same league as the 'Hebrew Hammer'!

It's not just you. the link doesn't work at all, but these characters sound a little more interesting than season 1, as does the idea of making it a superhero city rather than a lair. It'll also be interesting to see what changes are made if Stan appears in person more often.

I've seen some of you mention casting calls. Anyone know where to find a list of cities?
I loved the first season. I'm generally not a fan of "reality shows" because of the same old argument: they're only pretending to be reality. Put some cameras up around Paris Hilton's current residence. THAT'D be a reality show.
I classify shows like this one "contest shows," where there's a challenge, contestants have to meet it, etc. etc. Even then, this is one of the couple that I watch.
They said there'd be a second season long ago, but what's this? Did someone say November? Is that accurate? What's taking them so long?
Also, whatever happened to last year's winner? I heard he had a comic. Where's his Saturday night movie?
