Marvel seems to be on this perpetual Iron Man promotional blitz. Even after the Marvel Civil War national exposure he has:
-an upcoming almost done DTDVD film
-a live action film
-an animated series
-AND is featured in Ultimate Avengers DTDVDs.
-guest starring in the FF animated series
I'm ALL for as many projects as we can get but it seems like Iron-overkill doesn't it, spread it around?? I wish Captain America could get HALF this exposure ESPECIALLY an animated series (Avengers continuity) which is well deserved and LOONNNNG overdue.

I do wonder why Iron Man is the only character who has an animated video and a live action film coming. I wonder how the rights work on something like that.

Yes and no. Iron Man does seem to be getting lots of exposure right now, but we also have to remember that he was only animated once before, and no one even saw it, which is a shame cuz the second season sounded rockin. It may seem like alot but its also a little overdue for Iron Man. Hopefully the same could be done with Captain America, but I have a feeling that the mass populous think hes just some pro - US hero, and the name Captain America isnt exactly as marketable as Iron Man. Avengers is easier to market, tho I dont think theyre as well known by the average joe as Justice League is, I know most people I talk to know the JL but not the Avengers. However a good show and hype can easily fix that.

Fantastic Four and Iron Man were one of the first actioncartoons I have seen (the first being Biker Mice From Mars). I remember that Fantastic 4 started one week before Iron Man. I agree with others that 2nd seasons are better than 1st seasons, but I donīt mark them as unwatchable. Same goes for Spider-Man: Unlimited (except it never got any 2nd season, but rumours say that 2nd season would have been better). After Marvel Action Hour (my country never used that title, but they later started to show them together as 2 x 15 minutes. Next week they showed another 15 minutes of episodes) it was time for Spider-Man. That was the end of Marvel cartoons on this channel (but not the end of actioncartoons, cause they continued with Ultraman, Jonny Quest and repeats of Biker Mice From Mars). It took about 5 or 6 years until another channel started to show Marvel cartoons: The Incredible Hulk 1982, X-Men, Spider-Man: Unlimited and The Avengers: United They Stand. Actually in 90s they showed Marvel version of RoboCop. The only other actioncartoon I remember on this channel were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 (actually Itīs still on TV)

The most popular marvel caracters have allready been animated and/or had their L.A. movie.
Except for Iron man.
Captain america had a L.A. movie about 10 years ago (ok its a bad movie but it was made, as the first FF movie).

Besides, outside USA Captain Ameria isnt that popular with the non comic readers, this is, a simbol of the USA wount make Europeans or Asians go to the movies, at least not as X-men or Spider Man.
Iron Man on the other hand is the James Bond of the marvel universe, he will sell, and it will be a fx show to watch on the big screen.
Personaly i would prefer a Moon Knight L.A. but Shell Head isnt that bad.

As Marvel Legends and the second season of his old series shows, Iron Man is highly marketable given his armour upgrades/variations. He's one of the few characters out there you could logically make variants of.

as a life long Iron Man fan, I'd have to say it's about time he got this kind of exposure. X-Men and Spidey are overkill.
I don't think it's fair to say new Iron Man projects and merch is overkill. It's been a long time coming. Though I do agree with you about Captain America as I'm a huge Cap fan as well. I wish they would market the Avengers (the REAL ones) like they used to do with the X-Men.

I think that's one of the biggest reasons why we'll be seeing more of Iron Man - he's a very popular, proven toy seller. With the movie on it's way and it being the first Marvel are producing on thier own, it makes sense that they want him on TV before his movie hits theatres so they widen thier potential audience.
Not that I'm complaining, I'm really looking forward to seeing a new Iron Man cartoon - the last one ended too quickly.

I like the character and despite his horrible portrayal in the Marvel comics right now I think he's ripe for somemore cartoons and his own movie. He's a great character and he's well deserved of this attention. I don't think we're being oversaturated with him yet as his DTV, movie, and cartoon are still awhile away. I do hope this leads the way for other Marvel characters to get their dues by the big guns such as Spider-Man and the X-Men.

Despite not being featured too often in the craptacular Avengers show, Captain America has been around Marvel media for quite some time. He's made guest apperances in Fox's X-Men and Spider-Man, X-Men Evolution, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, the 1981 Spider-Man and the aformantioned Crapvengers. If a video game says Avengers or Marvel Super Heroes (or Marvel vs.) he's been in it and many more. While I'd like hime to currently have his own sho, Cap isn't doing too bad for himself.

As far as I'm concerned, there is no Iron Man overkill until we get a DVD set of his show like Fantastic Four got. That movie can't come soon enough.
Iron Man is highly marketable given his armour upgrades/variations. He's one of the few characters out there you could logically make variants of.
He's almost like the superhero for people who don't like superheroes since he doesn't wear tights and all his power comes from his suit. You'd think that would appeal to lovers of anime too.

I would love it if Rober hayes voice iron man again. And revile his theme music.

Marvel seems to be on this perpetual Iron Man promotional blitz.
Not a bad thing, he's my favorite hero and he's had nowhere near the coverage say....Spider-Man or the FF have had in the past.
Even after the Marvel Civil War national exposure he has:
Please don't bring that up.
-an upcoming almost done DTDVD film
Does anyone know if the release date on this is still this month or did it change?

I'm pretty sure the release date was pushed back to next year. If it wasn't we'd be seeing a website, trailers, and even reviews at MAA for it by now. It was due out originally this month, correct? Can anyone confirm that for me?

It was originally due in October, with three DTVs being released every year. Presumably, that has changed to two a year. I've no authority on the subject, but I would wager the film will be released in Februaty, much like the original Ultimate Avengers was.
