I'll be finished with high school (well some sort of a high school) next summer and I plan to go to an U.S. college as an freshmen after that.

There's just one problem...the grades I did this year were not exactly good. Why? Well because I'm not at the right school, in Germany they split high school after the 10th grade and if you want to continue to attend school you have either go to a technical-, economic-, science-, or language-related high school for further 3 years.

After I finished grade 10 I went to the States for one high school year and did really well. (I was a junior and had a GPA of 3.25)

After that I went back to Germany, and unfortunately I chose the economics-related school until grade 13 I managed my way through. I really suck in all economics/math-related classes and unfortunately I have a lot of them, but I'm good in all other classes.

I went back to the US last year during spring break and went to the college, I want to go to, and checked with them and they told me that it's not necessary for me to do grade 13 in Germany, because there are only 12 years of school in the US.

Now does anyone know if I should also send them my report card of grade 13 or should I leave it, because they said grade 13 is not necessary?

And if they evaluate im GPA, will they also include the grades I made in the US? (I hope so)

The problem mainly is that in the US I did really well, but I never did in Germany, because I chose the wrong kind of school and the German school system in general is extremely hard. :(

Thanks for your help :)

I'm in Ontario, and currently also in grade 13. I don't know how it works in Germany, but here, you do send your grade 13 marks to all the colleges you applied for. Then again, our grade 13 is considered "Grade 12 equivalency", even if it's harder or whatever. It sounds like it's not the same for the German grade 13. If they told you the gr 13 marks aren't necessary, and if your gr 13 marks are poorer, because it was done in Germany, maybe your chances might be better if you send your gr 12 marks?
