A game so late in geting into the PAL region it deserves it's own thread.
"Where was this when DQ8 Was released?" (Me)
"I couln't be arsed" (Also me)
So, after giving in Metal gear Solid 2, Breath Of Fire: Dragon Quarter (SOL doesn't meen "Sinario Overlay", that's all I'll say) and Sonic Mega Collection (Meh, After geting a mega CDX, it's no so hard to get the correct version anymore) and geting a £10 trade in discount, I got my hands on a PAL Copy of Kingdom Hearts II.
Now, my memories of KH I were ok, if not for Square's then horrid PAL Conversion policy (More letterbox than game) so I will see if we're got a KH I/FF10 situation or a DQ8 Situation.
I shall report back in due time.
EDIT: 10 Minutes in
Huzza! Full Screen! And everything looks a ton better than it did in KH I, speaking of which, the use of KH I visuals with a bit of .hack// screen messup was nice. Also no slow down to report and also the Skip Scene option...
At least Xenosaga II gave us something useful, huh?
EDIT: 3hours in...
Gezz, OCR Fourms wern't kidding when they said long intro was LOOONNNNNNGGGGG. But I'm still enjoying it.

Heh. It was amusing when I first found out it wasn't going to be released until September 28th, and then I see various banners coming up for it at least two weeks before hand. What was also rather amusing was that for some reason I wasn't able to find a lot of copies of Kingdom Hearts where I'm at, even though there were about a few stores in a line that sold video games, let alone Chain of Memories. I almost thought... WTF, are they going to release this game when it's first game wasn't released yet (at that time when I wondered where're all the copies for KHI).
I do wonder if some edits made for the US version will hold in the European version.

That's just to please all the Roxas fangirls, I guess. They had me fooled into thinking he was going to be Sora's sidekick or something.

To be honest, the .hack feel to it is jsut about making it worth it.
That and geting Sora back.
I do wonder if some edits made for the US version will hold in the European version. Good question, I'll find out once I get to Grand Line.
Yes, Grand Line, it's a One Piece world, not a dumb Pirates of the dumb Crabean dumb world...
right?
RIGHT?!
T_T I hate POTC...oh well, another chance to sing "Butt Pirates" to the tune of the Peter Pan world I 'pose.
EDIT: 4 and a bit hours in...
It's over, thank goodness. The Tanker Chapter is over!

Warning to you PAL players, there's a weak point in the game (spoilers for the beginning):
those 3 and a half hours (about 1:20 if you're skipping cutscenes) you play as Roxas.
HEY ROXAS I'M TOO FAT TO WALK LET'S GO SEE SIGHTS

HEY ROXAS I'M TOO FAT TO WALK LET'S GO SEE SIGHTS What I've been calling the Tanker Chapter, basicly.

They were edits in that level?
Anyhow, I think the first edits in the game are in the Olympious Colleseum.

Just got back to Hallow Bastion, oh god, Sora's Impression of Leon kills me.

In America, the undead don't catch on fire, swords can't protrude from undead, and Orlando Bloom threatens to take his life with a fire arm without even aiming it at his temple.

Not to sound clueless, but what is a PAL copy of a game?

Not to sound clueless, but what is a PAL copy of a game? PAL is a colour encoding system used in televisions in the UK and a bunch of other countries. The American colour encoding system is NTSC.

Enjoy the voice changes.
They aren't that bad, IMO. (Darn Mandy Moore shippers.)

Ok, finished beast's castle (I did the stupid thing where I played a level with a Recomended level higher than what I had, almost died twice cause if it too) and used Drive no less than 4 times.
I just know that's going to bite me one in the arse later.
Into Land of Dragons:
Three words: Multi Man Melle!
Also:
Mulan:"What are they?!"
Sora: "Heartless!"
*The three troops exchange looks and walk off anoyed, they think they've been called heartless*
This game's sence of humor is great.

Black smoke, yep, it's edited.
That meens grand line ain't gonna make no damn sence.
EDIT: Ok, whilst that won't excuse Grand Line, I think the blood was missing because it looks a little too much like a certain other gooey substance, not that it's blood.

Edits aside, it still feels like Sora's fighting the Zombie Sims.

I thought it was called Port Royal. It is but I call it grand line, hoping against hope that it will somehow involve Devil Fruit and the strawhat pirates.

Ah, now I get it. I never watch One Piece.
