So I'm perusing Wikipedia, as I am known to do, when all of sudden I come across this interesting little nugget:
A big fan of the Batman comics, he (Leahy) lent his voice in an episode of Batman: The Animated Series as a Governor in a western tale involving Ra's al Ghul and Jonah Hex. He also appeared as a cameo in Batman and Robin during the Jungle Party Sequence.
It seemed unbelievable to me that a sitting US Senator would actually lend his voice to a children's cartoon show, so I sought verification from IMDB. Turns out it's the truth.
So does anyone know the story behind this?
For those of you unfamiliar with Leahy, he's probably most famous for being the guy that Vice-President Cheney instructed to... well, let's just say he told Leahy to do something that was anatomically impossible.
